Consejo sabio y
estándar:
“A mediocre strategy well executed is better than a great
strategy poorly executed”
Ambición #1:
Asegurar dos pasos:1. Diseñar una buena
estrategia y luego 2. Seguimiento a la
ejecución!
Page 4
Este consejo realmente es útil …
Planeación / Pensar
Ejecución / Hacer
… o caímos en un paradigma equivocado?
Page 5
Se conoce como “The Execution Trap*”:
“What is the use of the distinction between strategy and execution, between formulation and implementation?
The answer is none at all.
It is a pointless distinction that in no way helps the organization.
In fact, it does great damage to the corporation.”
* Roger L. Martin, https://hbr.org/2010/07/the-execution-trap
Page 6

Time-to-Market: Soluciones rápidas, “Time-Box” limitado (8 km => xxx segundos)
Trabajar en equipo, con roles claros … pero:
Las soluciones NO son IP del líder … TODOS participan en el proceso creativo
No siempre se aprovechan las mejores oportunidades (“mochilas”) - “Fail, … but fail fast”
Page 12

14 Digital Led Transformation

Digital maturity assessment across web and mobile Leading practice research Future scenario design for a digitally enhanced end-to-end guest experience Mobile experience simulation Antecedentes: This airline has been a success story of the Industry. 15 years ago, they embarked on a bold strategy of growth with unbridled success. Their product is best in class and they now fly to all corners of the globe. But the world has not stood still and they, like their compatriot ME4 airlines, have seen a rapid decline in profit. Competition is reducing their revenue per seat New planes like the A350 fly point to point without needing to stop in the Middle East Consolidators (like Travelocity) make the airline the least important choice in a holiday Rapid untampered growth has made their operational functions inefficient Together with EY, the airline have set out on a transformational journey that is unique in the industry. ¿Que hicimos? EY initially delivered a 6 month project to help the airline to look 4 years into the future and set the Vision and Strategy for a Digital Airline unencumbered with the current state. The first month involved 10 EY people and 6 client resources defining a Vision of the future. We then hosted 35 client resources from across the business to define the Strategy for every part of the business. This Strategy included how they plan, target, sell, service, supply and operate the business of the future. It also defined new processes, products, business opportunities and technology stacks. Moving forward we are now helping them to select new technologies that support the vision and strategy. The technology vendors are being mobilised to deliver, over the next 6 months, proof of concepts to demonstrate that the vision is achievable. ¿Cómo lo hicimos? We used Design Thinking Workshops with the output visualised to facilitate all of the airline to understand the proposed programme We have also helped them to produce a report that has been provided to the management board that both explains and justifies the programme. We are now mobilising a bigger lab that will hold over 100 client and vendor resources. Over the next 6 months we will help them to build a proof of concept on four new strategic platforms to prove that the future state is both achievable and functional. The project makes extensive use of Design Thinking methods, collaborative working events and agile. We use, and have trained the client, the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to run the labs.
15 Digital Led Transformation
