Our Mission— Nuestra Mision
We, the Parish of St. Francis of Assisi, guided by the Holy Spirit, are a Christian Community called by God to take part in the mission of love and truth in the world. With firm faith in Jesus the Christ and the Holy Gospel, we
find our strength through prayer and the Sacraments, that we may become God’s servants to our sisters and
brothers.
hermanos.

Dear Parishioners, Peace and blessing! Friday is the Feast of All Saints. It is a Holy Day of Obliga on and it is also First Friday. Please check the bul-le n for the Mass schedule. We will have Eucharis c Ado-ra on between the Masses on Friday. Halloween which comes from the term for All Hallows or Saints, does not have its origins in paganism, Samhain, Cel c/Druidic fes vals, the occult, or Satanism. This common misconcep on is modern an -Catholic prop-aganda, with roots going back to the Protestant Refor-ma on, and has no basis in historical fact. Halloween is a day to reflect on Christ's triumph over sin, death, and Sa-tan; to give honor to the saints in heaven; and to pray for the souls of the faithful departed in purgatory. And, of course, to have fun with joyful feas ng and merriment. Happy Halloween! In our Gospel today Jesus reminds us that when we pray, we must remember our need for God in our lives. If we are too full of ourselves, there is too li le room for God's grace to work in us. Have a wonderful week! In His Peace, Fr.
