INTRODUCCIONINTRODUCCION En una sociedad pluricultural y bilingüe, el conocimiento de una segunda
lengua contribuye a favorecer la comunicación (comprensión y expresión), así como la ampliación del conocimiento y vivencias, en relación a otras culturas.
En el ciclo de Educación Básica Secundaria los intereses educativos se centran en conseguir que los alumnos dominen las cuatro destrezas básicas de la lengua extranjera; escuchar, hablar, leer y escribir. Todo ello bajo un enfoque basado en la comunicación, en donde se procurará la adquisición de competencias como la gramática, la sociolingüística y la sociocultural.
Estimular a los alumnos, haciéndoles partícipes en diferentes manifestaciones de comunicación, constituye el verdadero pilar del proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje de la lengua extranjera. De allí que, esta unidad didáctica “Personal Descriptions” tiene como objetivo primordial que los estudiantes del grado 9 ° sean capaces de manejar no solo en forma escrita sino también en forma oral las expresiones, vocabulario y gramática necesarias para poder describir a un personaje, a un familiar o a ellos mismos.
Cada día son más los docentes que se inclinan por un acercamiento más ecléctico en la enseñanza de las lenguas extranjeras, desechando así un único método y estructurando las unidades didácticas de sus programaciones con las distintas posibilidades de trabajo que ofrecen las TIC.
