Areniscas Stone - Pinaresca commenced its activity in 1999 with the extraction of blocks from our own open quarries located in Burgos, in Northern Spain. As it has evolved, Areniscas Stone - Pinaresca has incorporated in its day to day activities concepts such as quality, sustainability, R+D+i, & continuous training for employees. Parallel to this, the technological progress and expansion of its human resources has positioned us an exemplary company world-wide.
infrastructure
The factory is located near the quarries, on a total area of 40.000 sqm.
The R&D+i building houses the laboratory, training rooms, offices, museum and a showroom.
quarries and environmental politics
As part our total quality and environment programme, Areniscas Stone – Pinaresca puts into practice and encourages sustainability in all the stages of its activities.
Once the quarry has been closed, we proceed to rehabilitate the area.
A reforestation plan is then drawned up.
After the quarry has been backfilled, vegetation is planted.
ELEMENTS METHOD AND STRATEGIES USED INVIROMENTAL ADVANTAGES
QUARRYING
STONE EXTRACTION DIAMOND WIRE CUTTING
Less residues produced
Low noise level
EXPLOITATION AREA
SMALLER AREA EXPLOITED COMPARED WITH OTHER TYPES OF MINES
Easier to restore Better area recovery
HEIGHT OF THE EXTRACTION BANK
LOWER DEPTH REACHED COMPARED WITH OTHER TYPES OF MINES
Low visual impact Better area recovery
PRODUCTION
REFRIGERATION OF THE MACHINERY USED ON STONE CUTTING
RECIRCULATION AND TREATMENT OF WATER USED DURING PROCESS
Reduction in water consumption
Lower river and underground water pollution
