Read care labels, detergent labels and washer and dryersettings first.
Separate light-colored garments from dark ones, never washthem together.
Empty pockets and close zippers, snaps before washing. Do not overload washer or dryer (clothes will not get clean
or dry properly). Do not use bleach on acetates, silk, spandex orwool. Put the right amount of detergent into the machine first
and not on top of the clothes. (Bleach should never bepoured directly on fabrics, it may damage them.) Set the washing machine on the appropriate water
temperature for the clothing inside, and turn the dryer onthe correct fabric setting.

Read the care label first.
Nonchlorine (oxygen) bleach is generally good forcolored washables, but overbleaching with any kind of
bleach may weaken the fibers and make towels lessabsorbent.
wash them in the hottest water that's indicated safe forcolored towels.
Under normal household conditions, towels that havebeen washed in hot water and detergent and dried in ahot dryer will be clean and safe for family use.

Before cotton and linen are immersed in bleachingchemicals, such as natural impurities as wax and oilmust be removed.
The cloth is scrubbed and boiled in large kettles,
known as kiers. It is then placed for bleaching in a water solution of
sodium hypochlorite or calcium hypochlorite.
The hypochlorite ion, or the chlorine formed by the
decomposition of hypochlorite ions, oxidizes thenatural gray or brown coloring matter of the cloth, changing it into a colorless compound.
As a result the textile becomes white.
