What  is  CAS?    1.  Real,  purposeful  activities,  with  signi>icant

outcomes.    2.  A  personal  challenge—tasks  must  challenge  you,

but  still  be  achievable.    3.  Requires  thoughtful  consideration,  such  as

planning,  reviewing  progress,  reporting.  4.  Requires  re>lection  on  outcomes  and  personal

learning.

What  CAS  is  not…  1.  An  opportunity  to  score  points.  2.  An  hour-‐counting  exercise.    3.  Trivial  activities.    4.  Activities  where  you  are  a  passive  rather  than  active

participant.    5.  Activities  that  create  or  contribute  to  divisions  in  the

community  (e.g.  some  political  or  religious  activities).    6.  Activities  you  are  paid  for.    7.  Activities  that  are  part  of  your  daily  choirs  or

requirements  for  the  DP.  8.  Activities  where  you  do  not  have  a  supervisor.
