PARISH ANNOUNCEMENTS

When we declare someone to be “the salt of the earth”, we are generally referring to thesheer goodness of the person in question, her/his down to earth reliability, lack ofpretentiousness and practical wisdom. To be salt of the earth is to season the earthcommunity, to intensify its beauty, to be wise in one’s judgments, to be just andcompassionate in all of one’s dealings. This parable, with its multi-layered symbolism,certainly teases the mind. Jesus is telling his hearers, disciples and crowds, that they are thesalt of the earth. They do not have to become the salt of the earth; they are the salt of the earth.In short, he is affirming their worth.

TACKLING FLUE SEASON & THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK

Prevention at MassThose who are sick are not obligated to attend Sunday mass,

especially those who suffer from a contagious disease. It is a

sign of consideration for themselves and others, therefore

missing mass due to illness is not a sin.

Observe coughing etiquette

Holding hands during the Our Father is not suggested and

during the Sign of, a profound bow while uttering the words,

"Peace be with you" is preferred.

Reception of Holy Communion by the hand is recommended. If

the communicant insists on receiving by the tongue, must

extend the tongue forward to allow the minister to place the

Precious Body without making any human to human contact.
