a. What are the pretreatment programs enforced by the POTW for industrial
discharges?
b. Differentiate between the actual vs. potential emissions.c. What are the characteristics of environmental indicators?
d. To what extent does the adoption of an E! change a facility"s use of advanced
environmental and materials accounting techni#ues?
e. $ow should you ta%e into account the conditions of the environment whendeveloping your ob&ectives and targets or measuring and monitoring procedure?
f. Describe the Dose'(esponse )urves. $ow is it helpful in ris% assessments of
chemical agents?

to facilitatecompliance with the inorganic +)T standards of the +erospace ,E!$+P.)ross'functional coordination of +)T re#uirements has been critical not only forensuring compliance with thosere#uirements- but also for identifying and implementingsuitable alternatives not sub&ect to any +)Tstandards. or instance- the applicability ofthe )hromium +)T standard at the *oeing Philadelphia facility was eliminated byreplacing a chromic acid anodi/ing process with a boric0sulfuric acid anodi/ing processin 1223. Ongoing research and development efforts see% alternatives to the two

a. 5nder which act of EP+- +)T standards were developed?
b. Explain the applicability of +)T in case of aerospace world.

+n unhealthy body of water is said to be impaired- meaning it fails to meet state
water #uality standards. This pollution commonly ta%es the form of excessiveamounts of sediment- organic matter- or fertili/er-which ma%es the water cloudy- or
green- and unable tosupport a#uatic life such as fish.TD6 pro&ects are usually led
by local government organi/ations- often a partnership between soil and waterconservation districts- cities- counties- and others. These organi/ations are called
6ocal Pro&ect !ponsors. The municipal corporations plays a %ey role in facilitating
and funding thispro&ect
a. What is the purpose of TD6 in river based pro&ects?b. What %ind of information is obtained by carrying out TD6 based calculations?

)onsider the reactor system as shown in the figure below. The reaction is exothermic.+ cooling system is provided to remove the excess energy of reaction. 7n the event the
cooling function is lost- the temperature of the reactor would increase. This would
lead to an increase in reaction rate leading to the additional energy release. The result
could be a runaway reaction with pressures exceeding the bursting pressure of the
reactor. The temperature with in the reactor is measured and is used to control thecooling water flow rate by a valve.
Perform a $+8OP on this unit to improve the safety of the process.

The given below figure represents the process chain for the conventional syngas
production by catalytic steam reforming of natural gas. )arefully study the flow sheetand use the atrix method for the estimation of environmental impacts for the
emissions during the various steps involved during the entire process.

Data for air emission is given below for different actions occurred in electricity
generation plant. +ll emission data are based on the 1 Wh electricity produced. Put
all actions in decreasing order of environmental impact.
