INFORMACIÓN IMPORTANTE

& EL TRANSPORTE DE AUTOBÚS

LLEGADA A LA ESCUELA: Los estudiantes pueden empezar de llegar a las 7:50 am. Las

clases empiezan a las 8:00 am lunes-jueves. Los estudiantes deben estar puntual a las clases.

LA MATRÍCULA: Aunque no se requiere las clases de verano, les pedimos que si va a

inscribirle el niño, que ellos intentan a asistir todas las clases. Tenemos un límite de espacio, y el

estado nos da ayuda para el número de estudiantes que están inscritos.

COSTOS BAJOS DE CLASES: Para poder recibir ayuda monetaria desde el estado, sólo se

permite encargar para los materiales de las clases. El distrito de Lodi tiene que entregar la

información de ausencia para recibir el pago del estado. La asistencia del estado está basada en

la ausencia de estudiantes. Los estudiantes fuera del distrito deben contactar a la escuela para

preguntar sobre los costos.

COSAS PARA TRAER: Asegúrese que los niños traiga el horario/los horarios el primer día de

escuela, y para la sesión correcta. Los horarios les muestran el lugar de las clases y los ayudan a

los maestros para ayudar a los estudiantes en dar dirección. Los padres serán invitados de venir a

la escuela para ayudar a los niños. Las clases estarán en la escuela secundaria como antes. Las

mochilas son opcionales y no se requiere traer otras cosas a menos que se requiere algo de la

clase específica.

Resumen: El programa ¨Saunters¨ continua de evolucionar en el distrito de Lodi.

Este curso tiene una historia de 9 años de colaboración con el personal y

estudiantes de Lodi, el Ice Age Trail Alliance, National Park Service (Servicio de

parques nacionales) y Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (El

departamento de recursos naturales en Wisconsin).

Saunters Hiking (Ir de Excursión) - Grados 3-11

El 13 de junio – el 17 de junio (el 19 es medio día)

COSTO: $20.00

El programa ¨Saunters¨ empezó en el año 2008 con un curso semanal, dedicado al senderismo. Estamos

celebrando el octavo año de ¨Sauntering ̈en Lodi, con unas excursiónes dinámicas. Los estudiantes cargarán el

Estimados padres,

“Summer Lunch for Kids” es un programa alojado por un equipo de personas en Lodi, trabajando con el distrito

escolar de Lodi para extendir cuidado y generosidad en nuestra comunidad. Con una concesión de Thriven

Financial, y regalos de residentes locales, estamos marcando el tercer año de proveer almuerzo gratis a los niños de

la escuela verano que se inscriben por el 21 de mayo. Estos almuerzos serán servidos en la cafetería de la escuela

secundaria, empezando a las 11 por la mañana los lunes-jueves desde el 20 de junio hasta el 28 de julio, por los

Afternoon Session I Course Opportunities Eat It Up! (Grades 4-8) CLASS 201684 COST: $ 20.00 Yummy for your tummy and it's not from a box! Tasty treats that really rock. Not all sugar, not just for play, learn

some food skills for everyday! This class is hands-on and will be making, baking and taste testing!

Ice Age Adventures (Grade K-2) CLASS 201680 COST: $ 20.00 Did you know that a portion of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail runs through Lodi! There are several trails in

and near the City of Lodi include one right by the School! Come learn about the ice age trail and how it

changed Lodi and the state of Wisconsin! In the process we will learn about the trail, walk on the trail and

experience what it has to offer us. In addition we will step back into time (about 11,000 years ago!) and learn

about the life of plants and animals during the ice age time. As we work our way back to the present time, we will

experience what fun activities you can do on the trail and experience activities with nature! The possibilities are

endless and home you will join us for some adventures and fun times!

Evening Book Room Opportunity

Summer Reading Adventure(Grades K-5) CLASS 201688 COST: $ 0.00 We are very excited to invite your child to join us in a summer reading adventure! Our hope is to keep kids

reading throughout the summer so that they do not lose the ground they have made during this school year.

Readers make the most progress when they read every day for at least 20 minutes. We know that kids are most

successful when they read books that they choose - at their level. You may have noticed that most books in the

book stores or libraries are not written at your child's independent reading level. The good news is that our

school has a vast supply of books at every child's level! Teachers use these every day in their Guided Reading

lessons... And now you can use them at home too! We would like to meet you and your child on Monday

and/or Thursday evenings this summer at the Elementary School. Your child will get to 'shop' for good-fit

books to keep at home for 1 week. This will take place at the Elementary School in the evenings Mondays and

or Thursday from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Come anytime during this time frame. It will take approximately 15

kickboxing, Zumba and more!

Get Buggy Into Summer! (Grades K-2) CLASS 201628 COST: $ 5.00 Crawl, squirm, or buzz your way into class and get ready to get buggy! Little bugs (kids) will do fun buggy math

problems, read buggy books, go on creepy, crawly bug hunts and learn the basics for bug life!

Golf (Grades 4-11) CLASS 201640 COST: $ 0.00 Experience golfing through summer school! Mondays and Wednesdays students will meet at the golf course in

Lodi and golf from 7:00 am to 9:50 am. Students will need to find their own transportation to the course, but can

be bused back to the High School in time for their 3rd hour class for free. In addition students will continue other

skills on Tuesday and Thursday at the High School from 8:30-10:00. Golf clubs are required and are not

provided. Trips to mini golf to practice putting will be offered for an additional cost. This information will be

handed out to the students once details have been determined (schedule times is an estimate and may change).

This trip will be on the last day, July 7.

Good Sam Visits (Grades 3-11) CLASS 201665 COST: $ 10.00

Class will go to the Good Samaritan Center. Students and residents will play games, participate in craft making,

spelling and baking activities. Students will get to learn and share things with the residents. This class will be

offered in both sessions. Please feel free to sign up for both sessions if you would like or you have the option to

take just 1 session as well. Students will be bused from the High School to the Good Samaritan Center and will

return to the High School after class.

Hands on Cooking! (Grades 2-5) CLASS 201648 COST: $ 20.00 Yummy for your tummy and it is not from a box! Come make and taste some treats that you will make yourself

and will see how great they taste! And guess what it will be low on sugar. You will learn some great food skills

for every day use as well!

Hands on Science Extravaganza (Grades 3-6) CLASS 201639 COST: $ 10.00 All new experiments this summer! Come and experience this hands-on class as we explore what Science has to

offer and maybe even answer some of those "I wonder" questions you have been wondering about!

History of Lodi (Grades 3-6) CLASS 201652 COST: $ 10.00 Lodi and the surrounding areas has a lot of history. Do you know when Lodi began? Did you know that Native

Americans settled here as well? Learn about the history of the one room school house, Gilbarter rock and much

more. As you learn, the class will also visit these areas to see and experience it as well! This class includes a few

bus trips to tour what we have learned!

Kids on the Fly (Grades 3-7) CLASS 20166 COST: $ 10.00 In this summer school gear and fly-fishing program, students will learn basic concepts involved in gear and fly-

fishing. Students will spend time in a classroom to be introduced to the daily topic and then take a bus to Fish

Lake or Lodi Spring Creek to spend time learning on the water. This class will include but is not limited to: 1.

Casting- overhand, side, and roll casting (outside of the elementary school- or down by the creek). 2. Fly Tying-

using materials such as feathers and furs to tie insect patterns. 3. Basic Entomology- walking to Lodi Spring

Creek to look and learn about local aquatic/insect life. 4. Basic Ichthyology- learning about different species of

fish, and how to fish for them. 5. Stream Structure- walking down to Lodi Spring Creek to walk along the stream

and learn about the structure. The following items will be provided: Fly rods, fly reels, line, flies, and materials

for tying- Thanks to the generous donations by Cabela’s and the 3M company. ** There will be some gear rods

available, but students are strongly encouraged to bring their own if possible. Students SHOULD bring:

Protective Eye wear- preferably polarized sun glasses (to help see through the water), but regular glasses or sun

glasses will be just fine. If a student does not have access to any eye wear, it can be provided upon request.

Water- We will be outside and it will be hot, so it will be very important to stay hydrated! Students MAY bring:

Personal Flotation Device (PFD)- We will be near water, but will not be going in the water. Parents may choose

to have his or her child wear a personal flotation device (PFD). Sunscreen/ protective lip balm- It will be warm

out and we will be in the sun. Please come prepared or protected. Safety first: The instructor should be notified

of any allergies or pertinent medical information, and should be provided with an emergency contact. Students

will be reminded daily about proper conduct and safety on the creek. Also, students will be using barbless

hooks while fishing, but it must be noted that students could potentially be punctured by a fellow student, or his or

her own hook.**A first aid kit will always be on site.

Learning with Legos (Grades K-2) CLASS 201657 COST: $ 10.00 A starter solution that provides a glimpse of what LEGO Education can offer! Experience the positive impact

that LEGO Education solutions can have on learning and engagement. Activities will cover a variety of subject

areas including: language, arts, math, science and social studies all while have fun engaging with the activity

Makerspaces (Grades 4-8) CLASS 201651 COST: $ 10.00 What is Makerspaces? To describe them simply, makerspaces are community centers with tools. Makerspaces

combines manufacturing equipment, community, and education for the purposes of enabling students to design,

prototype and create manufactured works. This is a “hands on” project based program giving students the

Your Honor!" Come and experience it! Students will learn how the law, practice critical thinking skills, and gain

confidence with public speaking by taking on the roles of attorneys and witnesses in a mock trial that was used by

our top-notch high school mock trial team!

Paint What You See (Grades 3-8) CLASS 201619 COST: $ 20.00 Painting subject matter of objects which may be either natural (food, flowers, plants, etc) or man-made (glasses,

books, vases, coins, etc) will be exciting. You will learn to paint and create your own works of art. A portfolio

will be created to keep your works of art together. Join in the fun and maybe even become the next Van Gogh!

Radicle Recycling Projects! (Grades 1-8) CLASS 201633 COST: $ 10.00 In this class, you will take things that some people consider trash and make them into a treasure! Projects that

will be completed are painted pallets, self watering planters and unique photos on wood. Please bring one

photograph (5X7 or 4X6 in size) of something you love! Bring the picture the first day of class. Pictures will be

returned! Your child will have a great time being creative in this class. Art smocks are encouraged!
