El Colegio Básico Camino de Paz es un colegio de la Funda-ción Las Golondrinas, en el que se desarro-lla el proyecto Step by Step con los estu-diantes de pre-escolar a noveno grado. El pro-yecto se viene desarrollando desde enero del 2011 y se integran las áreas de Tecnología/informática, inglés y liderazgo, y el progra-ma OLPC (One Lap-top Per Child).

Confusion Challenge

Ferney Bustamante, es un estudiante de octavo grado de la Institución Educativa Marina Orth, fue el ganador de la competencia de retos en el programa Turtle Confusion en la que debía desarrollar, en su computadora XO-OLC, 40 retos, acompañado por su maestro de tecnología e infor-mática, Henry Vélez.

¿Qué es Turtle Confusion? Turtle Confusion es un lenguaje de programación gráfico que usa bloques manejados por una tortuga y que presen-ta 40 desafíos de programación, los cuales deben resolver-se mediante el movimiento de la tortuga de Logo. Los desafíos son problemas de simetría y geometría que

normalmente pueden resolverse mediante una combina-

ción de rotaciones y repetición de bloques.

Ferney cuenta que: “Aunque había desarrollado algu-nos retos antes, estos eran menos complicados. Al principio estos nuevos retos me parecieron difíciles, pero cuando empecé a trabajarlos eran más sencillos de lo que creía” y añade: “Me motivó el hecho de ga-narme el premio, un Play Station 2”. El estudiante comenta que desde tempranas horas de la mañana hasta altas horas de la noche permanecía traba-jando en su computadora con el fin de ganar la competen-cia y que su madre lo apoyó todo el tiempo y lo animó a seguir adelante con la meta propuesta. Ferney es una muestra del gran potencial que tienen los estudiantes de la Institución Educativa Marina Orth. Espe-ramos que siga siendo un ejemplo a seguir para sus com-pañeros porque con su actitud demostró que el esfuerzo y la persistencia son fundamentales para conseguir todos los sueños en la vida.

Ferney Bustamante is an eighth grade student of the Mari-na Orth School, who was the winner of the competition challenges in the program in which the competent had to develop in his or her XO-OLC computer, 40 challenges, accompanied by his information technology teacher, Henry Velez.

What is Turtle Confusion? Turtle Confusion is a graphical programming language that uses blocks that are managed by a turtle and features 40 challenges, which must be resolved by moving the Logo turtle. The challenges are problems of symmetry and geometry that are normally solved by a combination of rotations and

repeating blocks. This student and monitor (student leader) of information technology at The Marina Orth School, completed the assigned chal-lenge in 8 days. He showed his great mental ability as he left behind his fel-low competi-tors, the student who immediate-ly followed him

only managed to finish 24 challenges. Ferney said, “Although I had finished a few challenges before using the program, these were less complicat-ed. At the beginning, these new challenges seemed difficult, but when I started to work on them, I realized that they were simpler than I had thought.” He added, “My motivation was winning the grand prize, a Play Station 2.” The student explained that over the 8 days, from the early hours of the morning to very late at night, he worked dili-gently on his computer, fixed on winning the competition. His mother was his great supporter, continually encourag-ing him to keep up his hard work. Ferney Bustamante is only a small example of the great potential that the students of the Marina Orth School pos-sess. We hope that he continues to be a role model for his classmates and that they recognize that the persistence and dedication he showed in the challenge are the keys to accomplishing many of our goals and ambitions in life.

El 3 de Marzo de 2012 se dio inicio al CLUB DE ROBÓTICA

de la Fundación Marina Orth en el cual participan 45 niños y

niñas provenientes de las tres instituciones educativas de

Antioquia intervenidas por el proyecto Step by Step; Colegio

Camino de Paz de la Fundación Las Golondrinas, Institución

Educativa Rural Marina Orth de la vereda Aguas Frías y el

Centro Educativo Rural Campo Alegre del Municipio El Car-

men de Viboral.

El Club de Robótica se realiza gracias al apoyo de la Corpo-

ración San Blas de Medellín quien nos ha proporcionado los

recursos para hacerlo posible. Con el taller de Robótica

buscamos que estos niños de escasos recursos tengan la

posibilidad de ser competitivos en un universo inmerso en la

cultura cibernética. Para ello, han recibido un kit de robótica

y electronica que costó US$35. Este curso se desarrolla con

el fin de acercar la tecnología a los niños, preparándolos

para que sean partícipes, desde temprana edad, del visible

y rápido cambio del mundo globalizado.

Los estudiantes que hacen parte del Club de Robótica se

reúnen en la sede principal de la Fundación Marina Orth,

los días sábados, aquí ellos aprenden sobre sistemas elec-

trónicos, micro-controlados e informáticos. Hasta el momen-

to han desarrollado robots seguidores de luz, seguidores de

línea, elaborados a partir de partes reciclables de juguetes

usados por ellos y de partes reciclables de computadores

XO-OLPC.

Por otra parte, los niños de El Carmen de Viboral reciben las

clases en su escuela los días martes en la tarde; en este

caso las niñas son las grandes protagonistas quienes con su

gran habilidad y creatividad han creado robots dignos de

admiración, como es el caso de Andrea que diseñó un robot

acuático. Gabriel Mejía, ingeniero de la Fundación, lidera

junto con sus colaboradores Jhonny Sánchez y Zaida

Beltrán esta iniciativa de formación de niños descubridores

quienes se han mostrado altamente motivados.

M arch 3, 2012 was the start of the Robotics Club of the Marina Orth Foundation with participation from 45 students from the three schools where the founda-tion intervenes, Camino de Paz School from The Golondrinas Foundation, Educational Institution Mari-na Orth of Aguas Frías and rural education center Campo Alegre in the Municipality of El Carmen de Viboral. The Robotics Club was made possible thanks to the San Blas Corporation of Medellin which supplied the necessary resources to create it. With the Robotics workshop, we seek to provide an opportunity for stu-dents with limited resources to learn the appropriate skills to be competitive in an increasingly technology oriented universe. This course was developed with the goal to bring tech-nology to the students, preparing them from an early age to be able to participate in a rapidly globalizing world. The students that are part of the Robotics Club meet in the office of the Marina Orth Foundation, in the neighborhood of Belen La Palma. Here they learn everything they have to know about electronic sys-tems, micro-controllers and information technology. Moreover, the children of El Carmen de Viboral get

lessons in school on Tuesday afternoons; in this case

girls play a big role that with their great skill and crea-

tivity have created admirable robots, as the case of

Andrea who has created and aquatic robot. Gabriel

Mejia, engineer of the Foundation, leads with the help

of Jhonny Sánchez and Zaida Beltrán this initiative

training for children who have shown to be highly moti-

vated.

M ónica Ortiz y Jhonny Sánchez son dos egresados de la Institución Educativa Rural Marina Orth, ellos han sido becados por la Fundación Marina Orth para cursar estu-dios profesionales en Ingeniería Biomédica e Ingeniería de Sistemas, respectivamente. Dos carreras afines a uno de los ejes del proyecto; tecnología/informática. Dada su dedicación, responsabilidad, compromiso y en-trega, estos dos exalumnos tendrán la posibilidad de con-tar con un futuro prometedor que les permitirá obtener mejores condiciones de vida y que les posibilitará para cumplir sus sueños y objetivos a largo plazo.

Jhonny Sánchez expresa: “Agradezco a la Fundación Marina Orth por la posibilidad que me han brindado de poder estudiar, ya que era uno de mis grandes sueños estudiar Ingeniería de Sistemas, sólo me que-da reiterar las gracias por este apoyo a quienes lo hacen posible”. M onica Ortiz and Johnny Sanchez are two gradu-ates of The Marina Orth School; they have been awarded scholarship by the Marina Orth Foundation to continue their studies in Biomedical Engineering and Systems Engineering, respectively. Because of their dedication, responsibility and commit-ment these two alumni of Marina Orth will be able to have a promising future that will allow them to obtain a better living conditions and enable them to fulfill their

dreams and long-term goals. Jhonny Sanchez says: "I thank The Marina Orth Foundation for the opportunity they have given me to be able to study, as it was one of my biggest dreams to study systems engineering. I can only reiterate the gratitude for this support to those who made it happen"

Meanwhile Monica Ortiz says: "I want to thank the

people of the Marina Orth Foundation for giving

me this opportunity and for helping me achieve my

goals and my dreams so I can become a person of

integrity, professional and have a better quality of

life. Thank you again!

El Colegio Básico Camino de Paz es un colegio por co-bertura de la Fundación Las Golondrinas, en el que se desarrolla el proyecto Step by Step con los estudiantes de pre-escolar a noveno grado. En este proyecto que se viene desarrollando desde enero del 2011 se integran las áreas de Tecnología/informática, inglés y liderazgo, y el programa OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) con 635 estudiantes y 450 familias beneficiadas. La asociación de estas dos organizaciones ha sido muy compaginada y ha servido para que la formación de los estudiantes de escasos recursos tenga hoy una mejor cali-dad. Al mismo tiempo, ambas fundacio-nes han trabajado en sensibilizar a la comunidad sobre el cuidado de los 600 computadores XO-OLPC que los estudiantes llevan a sus casas; y de la importancia que tienen dichos equi-pos en la forma-ción de los niños y niñas de este ba-rrio de la comuna 8 de Medellín. Importantes com-pañías se han unido a este pro-yecto a través de significativas dona-ciones: General Mills, Procter and Gamble con su marca ACE; la Provincia de Brescia en Italia, Hewlett Packard; Nemo Servicios Me-dellín y la Asociación One Laptop per Child; estas empre-sas constituyen el más claro ejemplo de cooperación na-cional e internacional en pro del desarrollo social y de la calidad educativa de los niños colombianos. Este proyecto está transformando la vida de cientos de niños del Colegio Básico Camino de Paz y sus familias, los cuales tendrán mejores oportunidades académicas para convertirse en profesionales competentes que contribuirán con el desarrollo del país.

Camino de Paz, the third school to receive

the Project Step by step

The Camino de Paz School is operated by coverage and is intervene by The Golondrinas and Marina Orth foundations which have decided to jointly develop the project Step by Step with students from kindergarten to ninth grade. The project Step by Step, which has been developing since January 2011, aims to integrated areas of technology / computer science and English, with the support of comput-ers XO OLPC (One Laptop per Child).

The union of these two organizations has been joined to-gether and has served for the teaching of students in this school, whom have few resources, and has gradually be-come more integrated.

At the same time, both foundations have worked to inform the com-munity about caring for the OLPC XO-600 computers that were donated to the school and the importance of such equipment in the formation of these children in this area of sector 8 in Me-dellin.

Major companies have joined this project through significant dona-tions: Procter and Gamble brand with ACE, the

Italian Embassy in Colombia, Hewlett Packard, General Mills, Nemo Services in Medellin and One Laptop per Child Association. These companies are the clearest example of national and international cooperation for social develop-ment and educational quality of Colombian children. This project will transform the future of hundreds of children

of Camino de Paz School which will have better education-

al opportunities to become competitive professionals that

will contribute to the sustainable development of the coun-

try.

Marlon Vargas, a ninth grade student of the Colegio Basico Camino de Paz of the Golondrinas Foundation, traveled to Chicago, USA, as guest of Howard and Carol

Ellegant. Marlon will be learning Eng-lish and getting to know to American culture for five weeks with the help of his hosts. Marlon is one of the stu-dents who received a schol-arship by The Marina Orth Foundation; he studies English at the Centro Co-lombo Americano, as part of the agreement between the two organizations. This student is another sign

that with the opportunities

that people give, children

with low incomes have the world's doors open.

Thanks to his great capacity for learning, his commit-

ment and human quality Marlon has been granted the

opportunity to know another part of the world.

Marina Orth presente en el Festival Latinoa-

mericano de Instalación de Software Libre

(FLISOL)

La Fundación Marina Orth presentó, en el pasado Festival

Latinoamericano de instalación de Software Libre, el

computador portátil XO-OLPC que utilizan los estudiantes

en cada uno de sus proyectos y que usan software libre:

Linux Fedora.

El Festival Latinoamericano de instalación de software

Libre (FLISOL) es el evento de difusión de software y cultu-

ra libre más grande de Latinoamérica.

Este Festival, que comenzó en el 2005, ha tenido una gran

acogida en la región. Es un evento que se desarrolla simul-

táneamente en 20 países de la región con el fin de dar a

conocer a los asistentes, en más de 200 ciudades, la im-

portancia del trabajo en comunidad, del software y la cultu-

ra libre, con un despliegue de aproximadamente 250

voluntarios en Colombia.

Este evento se realizó el 28 de abril de 2012 en las insta-

laciones de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, sede

Medellín y permitió que los asistentes compartieran sus

experiencias en el uso de software libre; y que la Funda-

ción Marina Orth resaltara la importancia del mismo en el

desarrollo de procesos educativos.

Nikole King es una voluntaria norteamericana que llegó a

Colombia el 21 de febrero proveniente de Chile en donde

previamente estuvo enseñando inglés. Por un año sera

voluntaria de la Fundación Marina Orth en el Centro

Educativo Rural Campo Alegre, escuela pública de la

secretaría de Educación de Antioquia.

Rachel Baker fue voluntaria de la Fundación Marina Orth

durante el segundo semestre de 2010. La buena

experiencia vivida en Colombia hizo que Rachel se

postulara para una beca con la organización Fullbright

con el fin de regresar a Colombia, la cual le fue otorgada

para desarrollar una experiencia como maestra de medio

tiempo en la Fundación Universitaria Luis Amigó. Y como

voluntaria, durante el otro medio tiempo, de la Fundación

Marina Orth en la Escuela del Maestro de la Secretaría de

Educación de Medellín, en donde enseñará didáctica del

inglés a 20 maestros de inglés de escuelas públicas de

Medellín.

Ian Vickery llegó a Medellín, Colombia el 16 de mayo de

2012 , proveniente de Washington DC, y se quedará en el

país durante un año enseñándo inglés a los estudiantes

del Colegio Básico Camino de Paz de la Fundación Las

Golondrinas.

The Marina Orth Foundation presented in the last Latin American Festival of Installation of Free Software, the OLPC XO laptop, used by students in each of their projects which uses a free software: Linux Fedora. The Latin American Festival of Free Software Installation (FLISOL) is the largest propagation event of software and free culture in Latin America. This festival, which began in 2005, has been very successful in the region. It is an event that takes place simultaneous-ly in 20 countries in the region in order to inform participants in over 200 cities the importance of community work, soft-ware and free culture, with exhibitions of approximately 250 volunteers in Colombia. This event took place on April 28, 2012 at the premises of the National University of Colombia in Medellin and allowed

attendees to share their experiences in using free software, and the Marina Orth Foundation highlighted its importance

in the development of educational process.

voluntarios maestros de inglés

Ian viajó a Canadá antes de su llegada a Colombia con el

fin de recibir entrenamiento en el uso del programa para

enseñanza del inglés “Ooka Island”. Durante su tiempo en

Colombia ha estado probando la eficacia del programa con

los estudiantes.

“Tuve los mismos 5 estudiantes cada sesión y me

parece que los chicos han disfrutado mucho del

programa. Asimismo, según los informes (que se

registran automáticamente en el sitio de Ooka Island

por internet), puedo ver que los estudiantes están

progresando y están motivados aprendiendo (inglés)

de manera divertida e interactuando con las

computadoras. También estoy enseñado inglés a los

padres de familia, que están agrupados en un club de

inglés para adultos” comenta Vickery.

Estos tres voluntarios norteamericanos hacen parte del

programa de voluntarios de la Fundación Marina Orth que

desde el 2009 ha recibido 16.

Nikole King is an American volunteer who arrived to Co-lombia on February 21 from Chile where she was previ-ously teaching English. Nicole will be volunteering for one year in the Marina Orth Foundation at Rural Education Center Campo Alegre, Public School of the secretary of education of Antioquia. Rachel Baker was a volunteer of the Marina Orth Founda-tion during the second half of 2010. The good experience lived in Colombia caused Rachel to apply for a scholar-ship with the organization Fullbright in able to return to Colombia, the scholarship was granted to develop a teaching experience as part-time job at the Luis Amigo University and as a volunteer during her spear time in The Marina Orth Foundation where she will be teaching didac-tics in English to 20 public School teachers of the Ministry of Education of Medellin. Ian Vickery arrived to Medellin, Colombia on May 16, 2012, from Washington DC, and will be staying in the country for a year teaching English to students of the Co-legio Basico Camino de Paz of The Golondrinas Founda-tion. Ian traveled to Canada before arriving to Colombia where he received training in the use of the English teaching

program "Ooka Island." During his time in Colombia he has been testing the program's effectiveness with stu-dents. "I had the same 5 students each session and I think that the kids have really enjoyed the program. Also reported (recorded automatically in Ooka Island site on the Internet), I can see that students are progress-ing and are motivated to learn (English) in a fun way and they are also interacting with the computers, I also teach English to the parents of the community, who are grouped in an English club for adults" Vickery said. These three American volunteers are part of the vol-

unteer program of the Marina Orth Foundation which

since 2009 has received 16.

La Fundación Marina Orth ha venido preparando a un

ejército de estudiantes vanguardistas en reparación y

mantenimiento de computadoras XO-OLPC y en

instalación y desinstalación de software. Son alrededor de

50 estudiantes líderes, niños y niñas entre los 8 y 14 años,

quienes han aportado sostenibilidad a los proyectos locales,

dándoles parte de su tiempo y su compromiso.

They are about 50 student leaders, boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 14 years who have provided sustainability to the local projects, giving part of their time and commitment.

Through this strategy we seek to respond not only to

the challenges of a globalized world and continued

competition but also, help students to have a clearer

vision of their future. Within this group, several stu-

dents have expressed their desire to pursue careers

related to the knowledge they acquire in the club.

Progress in the learning of the English

language

As one of the fundamentals skills to develop in the project Step by Step, is teaching English to both students and teachers and parents of the different projects where the foundation is involved.

In El Carmen de Viboral the process of learning English has been characterized by its emphasis on knowledge of the English-speaking cultures, so the teacher Susana Urrego held in great detail the "Valentine" party "St. Pat-rick "and thanksgiving" with students from preschool to grade 5.

In El Colegio Basico Camino de Paz the process of learn-ing English has been an emphasis on communication in English. The teacher Alejandro Urrego and several stu-dents were invited to the Vermont School, a private school, to present the progress of the step by step project, an exhibition that was presented in English, with the recognition of all the attendees. Just one year of the im-plementation of the project, one lead student, Marlon Var-gas was awarded a visit to the United States.

For its part, the achievements in the Marina Orth School has been marked by learning English through partnership agreements with organizations such as ColbyCollege, TeachtheWorldon Line, who have been working with stu-dents. The school developed a program with 1st grade students and their school teachers in Santa Clara school.

This project has been developing since January 2011 and

has technology / computer science, English and leader-

ship and the OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) as integrated

areas with 650 students and 450 families benefited.

A través de esta estrategia se busca también, responder

no solo a los retos de un mundo globalizado y en com-

petencia continua si no también, ayudar a los estudiantes

a tener una vision más clara de sus opciones para el

futuro. Dentro de este grupo varios estudiantes han

manifestado su deseo de estudiar carreras afines a los

conocimientos que van adquiriendo en el club de moni-

tores.

Como uno de los fundamentos del proyecto Step by Step, está la enseñanza del inglés tanto a los estudian-tes como a los maestros y a los padres de familia de los diferentes proyectos en los que interviene la funda-ción. En El Carmen de Viboral el proceso de aprendizaje del inglés se ha caracterizado por su énfasis en el conoci-miento de las culturas de habla inglesa; asì la maestra Susana Urrego ha celebrado con lujo de detalles “el día de San Valentín”, la fiesta de “San Patricio” y thanksgi-ving” con sus estudiantes de pre-escolar a 5 grado. En el Colegio básico camino de paz se ha hecho énfa-sis en la comunicación en lengua inglesa. El maestro Alejandro Urrego y varios de los representantes de los estudiantes han sido invitados al Colegio Vermont, co-legio de educación privada, a presentar los avances del proyecto Step by Step, exposición que fue presentada en inglés, con el reconocimiento de todos los asisten-tes. A solo un año de implementación del proyecto, uno de sus estudiantes estrella, Marlon Vargas se hizo acreedor a una visita a los Estados Unidos. Por su parte, los logros en la institución Educativa Ru-ral Marina Orth han estado marcados por el aprendiza-je del inglés a través de convenios de asociación con organizaciones como Colby College, Teach the World on Line, quienes han estado trabajando con los estu-diantes. La Fundación Marina Orth brinda consultorías a Asocaña y a la Universidad Eafit en el programa One Laptop per Child (OLPC).

La Fundación Marina Orth será el ente consultor de Asocaña para la implementación del programa OLPC en 5 sedes educativas públicas del municipio de Pradera, Valle del Cauca. Asocaña es la organización que agrupa a las compañías azucareras de Colombia Se tiene previsto que a finales de julio de 2012 y por dos meses, varios funcionarios de la Fundación se desplacen al Municipio de Pradera para desarrollar las acciones pertinentes para la puesta en marcha de dicho programa, en sus com-ponentes directivo, pedagógico, técnico, logístico y evaluativo. Con este proyecto la Fundación Marina Orth ayudará a que Asocaña a través del proyecto; “La Tecnología: el camino para la igualdad en el acceso a la educación y la disminución de la pobreza”, impacte de modo directo a 2.120 estu-

diantes de los grados Pre– escolar a quinto de básica primaria, a sus maestros y padres de familia. De otra parte, se brindará soporte logístico y técnico en la activación de más de 11.000 computadores XO-OLPC y la im-plementación de 39 servidores XS a la Universidad Eafit de Medellín, quien será la encargada de la implementación general del programa de TIC en el municipio de Itagüí, (municipio ubicado al sur de Medellín) con este soporte se bene-ficiarán 38 sedes educativas públicas, y a sus 8.300 estudiantes de segundo, tercero y cuarto grado; al igual que a 400 maestros. La Fundación está encargada de la puesta en marcha de los equipos en un mes, el trabajo se realiza con la ayuda de un

equipo técnico conformado por exalumnos de la Institución Educativa Rural Marina Orth, por otros miembros de la comu-

nidad de Aguas Frias y amigos de la Fundación Marina Orth que han recibido el entrenamiento respectivo en el taller de

soporte autorizado XO–OLPC. Se destaca la participación de 4 señoritas en este equipo técnico.

Estas dos consultorías constituyen un voto de confianza y un reconocimiento para la Fundación Marina Orth y su tarea de

7 años en pro de la calidad de la educación pública de Colombia.

Consultorías

Un ingeniero de Control de la Fundación, el Sr. Gabriel Mejía, ha venido desarrollando un sistema electrónico micro controlado, que servirá como cerebro de los robots. Este sistema consiste en una tarje-ta electrónica que dispone de dife-rentes medios de comunicación para conectar sensores y actuado-res (motores), que optimicen las funcionalidades y la inteligencia del robot para interactuar con su en-torno. Se busca con ello, iniciar un movi-miento de investigación y desarro-llo al interior de la Fundación que le permita estar a la vanguardia tec-nológica y a su vez expandirse a las diferentes áreas que usan esta clase de tecnología. Se tiene pla-neado transferir la metodología al trabajo con los estudiantes que más interés muestran en esta ma-teria, de tal modo que genere inno-vación a los procesos educativos.

A control engineer of the Foundation, Mr. Gabriel Mejia, has been develop-ing a micro-controlled electronic sys-tem that will serve as the brains of the robots. This system consists of an electronic card that has different media to connect sensors and actuators (motors) that optimize the functionality and intelligence of the robot to interact with their environment.

We seek to start a movement of re-

search and development within the

Foundation that will allows us to be at

the forefront of technology and at the

same time expand into different areas

that uses this kind of technology. It is

planned to transmit the methodology to

MARINA ORTH FOUNDATION

The Marina Orth Foundation provides consultancies to Asocaña and EAFIT University in the program One Laptop per Child (OLPC).

The Marina Orth Foundation will be the consultant entity of Asocaña for the imple-mentation of OLPC in 5 pub-lic educations institutions in Pradera, Valle del Cauca. Asocaña is an organization that groups all the sugar companies in Colombia. It is anticipated that by the end of July 2012 and for two months, officials from The Marina Orth Foundation will set out to the municipality of Pradera to develop appropri-ate actions for the implemen-tation of the program, steer-ing components, education-al, technical, logistical and evaluative.

With this project the Marina Orth Foundation will help Asocaña through the project "Technology: the road to equality. Access to education and poverty reduction”, impacts directly to 2,120 students from Kindergarten through fifth grade, teachers and parents.

On the other hand, provide logistical and technical support in the activation of more than 11,000 OLPC XO-computers and 39 XS servers to the Eafit University of Medellin, who will be responsible for the overall implementation of the ICT program in the municipality of Itagui (municipality located south of Medellín) with this mount 38 public educational sites, and 8.300 students from second, third and fourth grade will be benefited, as well as 400 teachers.

The Foundation is responsible for the implementation of computers in a month, the work is done with the help of a technical team made up of alumni of School Marina Orth, other members of the commu-nity of Aquas Frias and friends of The Marina Orth Foundation who have received relevant training in the workshop support OLPC XO-authorized. It highlights the participation of 4 ladies on this crew.

These two consultancies build confidence and recognition to the Marina Orth Foundation and its 7 years labor in favor of the quality of public education in Colombia.
