Abstract- The Distribution System is composed by many factors that denea great execution, when each one perform its function. These factors can beclassied in two groups, the system planning and the system management.

The relation between these groups is expressed by power supply continuitylimits. These limits dene how much the system is reliable, or in other

words, if the energy injected in the system attend the demand withoutinterruptions. n !ra"il, this continuity limits are expressed by D#$ and %#$&e'ui(alents to index SAD and SA%). *owe(er, the method to dene theglobal index of D#$ e %#$, proposed by the +egulatory Agency can presentsome incoherencies. $onsidering these premises, this paper presents aproposal to adjust this index, aiming to reduce the penalties imposed by theAgency. This optimi"ation will be made through peration +esearch, morespecically by inear rogramming.
