LA GENEROSIDAD DE DIOSEl Señor dio de comer a las multitudes. Después de poner a prueba a Felipe y Andrés, Jesús mostró a todos los presen-tes lo que era importante. Con la conocida generosidad de la Santísima Trinidad, Jesús alimentó a los que estaban allí hasta que estuvieron satisfechos. Después ordenó que se recogiera lo que sobraba. Llenaron doce canastos con los sobrantes: uno para cada apóstol. Este gesto profético anticipó la Eucaristía. El Señor nos alimenta en el seno de la Iglesia apostólica. ¡Demos gracias a Dios!

The Lord fed a large crowd of people. After testing Philip and An-drew on logistics, he showed everyone that the priority lay else-where. With the usual generosity of members of the Holy Trinity, Jesus gave the crowd as much as was wanted; then he ordered that leftovers be picked up so nothing would be wasted. Twelve baskets were left over—one for each apostle’s use. This prophetic gesture foreshadowed the Eucharist. The Lord nourishes each of us in the bosom of the apostolic church. Thanks be to God!
