of guru-disciple relationships and the formation ofashrams do not support abuse, irreligiosity, destructionof the family or criminal activities as has been found instrange cults around the world. We have a tradition ofpurity, goodness, selfless surrender, social welfare, spiritual upliftment, control of the senses, support toresponsible family relationships, ecological awareness

etc. Our tradition suits the need of the world for a purereligious revival. Those who are not preaching openly tonew recruits or public forums may not feel that need ofan identity beyond their own individual mission. But sincethe plan of Lord Chaitanya is for the whole world, andmany new temples and missions are arising, theVaishnavas are repeatedly investigated and questionedabout their spiritual, intellectual and organizationalaffiliation by the public, scholars and the press.

It is our sacred duty as representatives of our guru-vargato create a positive impression in the world regarding allof our activities. This is the reason why the VVRS-WVA

has an important function. United we stand, divided wefall. As the saying goes "Unity is strength." This maysound rhetorical, but if you are in a position of difficulty, you would rejoice if other Vaishnavas in the world arebacking up the validity and religious dignity of youractivities. In India this image may be accomplished bysimply wearing a particular type of tilak, but in the Westthat is surely not the case. But even in India we see thatmaterialism up to even meat eating is in a constant rise, let alone Mayavadi contamination. Srila A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada impressed people inIndia very much and rekindled the spiritual enthusiasm inthe Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition due to his worldcampaign. In a similar way, world Vaishnava unity will be

so attractive and powerful that even Vaishnavas fromSouth India will be enthused to come forward and acceptthe unique position of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Andas an accepted world religion how much good canVaishnavas do for India and the whole world. Today inmeetings of the world religions Vaishnavas are hardlynoticeable or represented. Every mission has arecognized individual autonomy and validity. Theaffiliation with the VVRS-WVA is just another opulenceto further enhance the credibility of our preaching.

According to the by-laws and the design of theVVRS-WVA which you can find on the Internet, VVRS-

WVA does not interfere in any missions' activities. TheVVRS-WVA does not promote one mission or acharyaover the others. VVRS-WVA protects the dignity ofVaishnavism keeping a distance from any individual'sactivities which are harmful to the general interest of allthe members. Vaishnava Unity therefore is a truenecessity even if one does not feel that he will bebenefited by this very much. This great ideal waspromoted by Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Himself. Whatdid motivate the appearance of Lord Chaitanya? It is

    3/13

interesting to note that His appearance has a unityaspect which has been glorified as the highest unity.Shrila Vrindavan Das Thakur has explained, "shri krishnachaitanya radha krishna nahe anya." The personality ofShri Chaitanya is the combination of the predominatedmoiety of Shrimati Radharani with the predominatingmoiety of Bhagavan Shri Krishna. That transcendental

union takes place at Imli Tala in Vrindavan. It has beenrevealed by Shri Chaitanya to Ramananda Ray and wehave all been blessed with the sweetness of themessage of madhurya rasa due to the mercifulintervention of the audharya lila.

On the other side, the pastimes of the lila avataras showless prominent aspects of the Absolute. No doubt He isalso the lover of truth, the just slayer of demons likeHiranyakashipu (Nrisinghadev); the benefactor of thedemigods who recover their lost property from BaliMaharaj (Vamanadev); the enlightened one who savespoor animals from the butcher section of degraded

brahmanas (Buddha); the king who perfectly rules theworld up to the point to break the heart of people bysending away Sita (Ram). Little of unconditional unityand magnanimity can we find in those lilas. They carrythe message of dharma, righteousness and obedience. Now, all of a sudden, at the threshold of the thirdmillennium, we see a new trend appearing. Is itconsistent with the teachings of the Vedas? Nonbornbrahmanas take the murtis of Bhagavan to foreigncountries and worship them with traditional and localingredients. Millions listen to the mahamantra withsamba and rock 'n 'roll tunes.

Krishna katha and holy books appear by now in streets

and colleges around the world in every possiblelanguage. We see devotees dancing together from allworks of life. What previously was only Indian heritage isnow welcome and widely appreciated by all. EvenWestern gurus with Indian brahmana born disciples. Itsounds like a dream. And this is rapidly increasing. Nowalso the two main Gaudiya Vaishnava movements whohad been instrumental to carry the message far and widehave branched into many little apparently independentmovements, making it harder to even track down wherethey all are and what they do. For all of thesemovements, the expression of the great VaishnavaVasudeva Datta is their hearts' expression: "If

Mahaprabhu would not have come, how could we sustainour lives? How could we live? What type of ecstatic rasahas He imbibed that we have been able to have a littletaste? Without this our life would be impossible." It is adivine plan to be divided.

If every drop of water which falls is controlled by theSupreme Lord, how could He be separated from what isgoing on in His own missions? Also this divided aspectis a constant challenge for new devotees to qualify and

take responsibility on behalf of the dignity of theirspiritual master. In addition this diversification creates afoundation which is increasingly invincible. One missionwith one administrative center is very vulnerable in aworld which is not seldom opposed to the preaching ofunalloyed love and a life of sacrifice to divinity. Even fromthe side of the families of aspiring Vaishnavas, great

attempts have been made to stop the activities of theVaisnavas. In America that went so far that parents paidup to 20,000 US$ to get their children kidnapped from thetemples and forcefully deprogrammed by subjecting themto torture and to non- stop offenses against their spiritualfaith. Vaishnavas are not always welcome everywhere.Recent history has given us cases of illegalimprisonment of Vaishnavas in Russia, court cases tostop the preaching in Poland. Persecution of Vaishnavasby governments in Chile, Romania and other countries.Sometimes due to fear to loose their influence, governments and other religions have made it difficult forparticular Vaishnavas or missions to even send their

children to school or to establish a solid base for theiractivities.

Of course, not all aspiring bhaktas or those who pose asbhaktas have always acted perfectly. If you engageconditioned souls in the service of God and in the strictdiscipline of bhakti yoga, it is not surprising if somecandidate repents his decision and returns to his formerlife, which sometimes was even of illegal nature.Vaishnavas do not close the door to those whopreviously may have had involvement with wrong activitiesand misconduct of any kind. Rather it has been themercy certificate since the deliverance of Jagai Madhaithat this incarnation of the Lord has the special feature to

forgive and distribute transcendental love. NityanandaPrabhu and Haridas Thakur made it a point to specificallyprove this. If surrender to divinity is so powerful that evena degraded person can be saved, then there is also hopefor us. We should not be over critical about others. However, some speak like this: " We feel that we and ourgroup modestly considered are just a bit better than allthe others. Of course, that is only because I got thisspiritual master who appears to be more special than allthe others I have mercifully glanced upon." Otherscorrectly think:" It is just because of the false ego whichhas managed another new trick to keep them away fromthe impartial understanding of the descent of divinity in

an uncontrollable fashion through a host of differentagents." The divine ashraya vigraha which great soulshave confirmed is none other then the divine reality ofShrimati Radharani. This comes in a special disguiseand manifests itself to save all those who have chantedwith fervor for Her grace.

Nobody would dare to claim that he has the rightsreserved for Her merciful dispensation, but alas! when wecome to the point of glorifying our divine master, we often

just cannot stop doing it at the expense of others inslightly perverted ways. This amounts in the long run tosubstantial Vaishnava aparadha. And this is also whymany disciples of other spiritual masters have takenrefuge distant from our association. Unity is not so easyto accomplish but no effort should be spared in thisdirection. We shall not become pessimistic and give up

our genuine enthusiasm for such a noble purpose. Ourdivine guardian Srila Jiva Goswami obediently executedthe order of Sri Sanatan and Sri Rupa Goswami as heestablished and defended the Vishva Vaishnava RajSabha. Problems of different Missions and even thedeparture of spiritual masters from the perfect path hadalready been experienced or foreseen in that time andtherefore Srila Narahari Sarkar Thakur compiled theKrishna Bhajanamritam to teach us how to deal withsuch complicated issues. Unity for what? That is a verygood and justified question. Because unity for a badthing will constitute only further confusion and morereactions. Unity against another Vaisnava family will

cause catastrophic reactions. But unity for the sake ofpleasing the Supreme Lord can only take us closer tothe real spirit of the teachings of the bonafide acharyas. The vision of Srila Jiva Goswami to create a unified forumfor all the Vaisnavas could not have been wrong. Of thesame opinion were great stalwarts like ShrinivasAcharya, Narottama das Thakur, Shyamananda Prabhu,Hemalata Thakurani as well as Shrila BhaktivinodThakur, Shrila Prabhupada Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati,Shrila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhar Dev Goswami and ShrilaBhakti Promode Puri Goswami Maharaj. All of them, inone way or another were involved in the Vishva VaishnavaRaj Sabha. In this spirit we daily pronounce ourPremadvan prayers saying, sama veta bhakta vrinda ki

    jaya.

We see how even the six Goswamis of Vrindavan whohad with other contemporaries a great variety of Ashramsand different Vaishnava families in small villages, theycould also foresee the need of such a forum as theirmessage advanced among the masses demanding therecognition of a real world religion. A world religion notbecause of having branches all over the world, but due tohaving authentic holy scriptures and a living disciplicsuccession which keeps inspiring people upon hearingthe message to turn to a traditional monastic life of theVaisnava heritage. No other religion has been able to

reach so many different kinds of people who voluntarilychange their lifestyle and become devotees. This patternis confirmed in the very words of Sri Chaitanya Himself.Nowadays we have sometimes three Vaisnava missionsin the same little town. How sad and crazy if they do notspeak with each other when they meet in the streets. Isit an unavoidable symptom of a neophyte stage? Do wehave to live with this forever? Uttama adhikari devoteesrelate obviously in a different way which cannot just beimitated by devotees who have lower realizations.

The love of the topmost devotees does not allow them todiscriminate. Devotees of the middle stage, or madhyamadhikari, learn to discriminate for the welfare of thosewho are under the guidance. They can thus choosethose who are mature enough to understand thesweetness of the plural manifestation of divinity. If

Srimati, the divine giver of delivery of the fallen souls, hasthought out a plan to capture more and more souls, wehave to prepare ourselves with a generous, broadmindedheart to accommodate the recipients of that mercy, lestwe want to upset Her and thus contradict our ownhumble supplication for eternal service. Devotees of thelowest rank or kanishta adhikari find difficult to evenfollow the most basic principles which make for a life ingoodness. Being less experienced Vaishnavas, they areovercome with prejudice, easily angered over minorissues and always ready to pick a fight even with theirfellow brothers and sisters. Generally they are open toany influence even from non Vaisnava sanga or so

fanatically exclusive that they even shun looking at theirown mother with favourable attitude because she did not"surrender".

The story of and with kanishta adhikari devotees is longand not palatable. But every Vaisnava guardian has todeal with this just like every mother has to clean thestool of her baby every day. Thus unity is obviously forthe more mature, prepared devotee community. But theabsence of such unity fosters the kanishta mentalityeven amongst those whom we may expect to have gonebeyond this long time ago. If the Guru leaves this worldat such a stage, we will find that the kanishta adhikaridevotees will immediately turn on each other, since the

harmonizing personality of love is not any more incontrol. If we do not educate the devotees to respect allVaisnavas who do dedicated service, they will not beable to detect in the future which one of their brothers aretrustworthy representatives of the spirit and substance ofGurudeva. They will be fooled by those who claim thatthey got the keys or the monopoly to grant entrance intothe spiritual world, while they are not even inspired toreally serve their Guru in his absence and due to lack ofguidance and their offenses they gradually go downthemselves. Unity amongst mature devotees is one ofthe most beautiful opportunities to make plans on alarger scale. If we are to fulfill the vision of our Shrila

Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, we shall comeforward ready to assist him in so many ways. DhamSeva, service to the holy dhamas, to clean, fix thebroken buildings and restore the worship of the deities.

To make a city of Vaisnavas from different missions inMayapur or create a Vaisnava university where disciplesfrom all over the world can study. I guess that even themost fanatical individual cannot honestly say that theworld will be saved by the efforts of just one Guru. As a

matter of fact the shastras even proclaim: It is verydifficult to make much spiritual advancement with justone spiritual master. In the Land of Gurus, Sri Vrindavan, even the grain of sand is our Guru. Krishna stepped on it,the gopis also walked there. Who gives me the right tolook down upon any individual? I am the servant of all. Iwant the blessings of all. This is the spirit of the divine

Vishva Vaishnava Raj Sabha. If we are not there as yet,due to our own shortsightedness, we shall embraceevery opportunity to come closer to this conception. Thisis the conception of a divine family. That is Goloka. Notthat every group is going to try to put the other groupdown and then claim that Krishna only belongs to them.If for the sake of lila such a feeling arises it is wonderful, but even Chandravali said upon observing the pain ofseparation of Srimati Radhika: "

If Krishna comes back it would be only for the feelings ofseparation She is showing now." In separation from ourspiritual master we should be very concerned with unity.

We cannot ignore the welfare of our other brothers andsisters while proclaiming our devotion for our father. Wemay have to simply give an example of loving service inseparation if the other family members are absorbed infighting. But we should always be in the service of thegreat Harmonist Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Religionmeans proper adjustment. It means relationship.Relationship with the supreme Lord whom I have ignoreduntil today in my wild goose chase after sensegratification. Relationship with my spiritual family.Relationship with other Vaishnava families. Relationshipwith men, women and animals as well. Relationship withMother Earth. Religion means wise relationships.Realized relationships. Relationships to endear us to

others by representing our Gurudevas. That may lead toconverting them to become also members of our family. But if they are already initiated Vaishnavas, does it meanthat now we cannot have a favourable relationship withthem? How can we accept such a narrow ideal in ourdealings with other Vaishnavas? Actually we cannot. Sowe have to train ourselves to have good relationships withother Vaishnavas from other missions. When they visitour temples, when we meet them in the streets, anywhere, in all circumstances. Krishna Himself hadGodbrothers and they were very dear to Him. But isanyone who is consecrating his life to him not dear toHim? If we really want a pure unalloyed relationship with

the Supreme in His dearest abode, we will surely have topass the test of how we interact with other Vaishnavasand followers of other religions as well. How will peoplerespect the Vaishnavas if they see that they cannot worktogether on any project.

All present themselves as great and other groups asinferior. By keeping this mood, we will not be able topass the test of the investigating searchers. So they willgo away searching harmony on the non-dual plane.

Mayavadis show the ability to offer general respect toeach other and work on some common projects. Yetthey are on a different platform. Does that mean wecannot follow the vision of our Acharyas? HinduismToday is the magazine most widely red by those whosympathize with Vedic dharma outside India including allIndian born families. They are fully conversant with and

publish mainly Shaiva Siddhanta. On the other side, weonly publish propaganda of our own individual mission. We hide the fact that others' missions may alsorepresent the same ideals.

It looks as if we are somewhat afraid to loose potentialrecruits as soon as they become aware of otherVaisnava groups. But experience has shown that peopleare very faithful and thankful to the channel where theyhave received their spiritual help. And in another casethey may be better of somewhere else. A solution to thispoint could be to request Vaisnava publishers to print intheir books the logo of the VVRS-WVA together with the

words "Member of the VVRS-WVA." I am not proposingthat every new devotee should tour around from missionto mission. But at least after some time a devotee shouldunderstand a fuller picture of Lord Chaitanya' s plan tocreate Vaisnavism as a world religion.

A religion where we also help each other, defend eachother and cooperate to spread Krishna consciousness. Not a world where every devotee tries to control the wayothers worship, dress or their kirtan style. A world wherewe can remember Lord Chaitanya and His manybranches or devotee groups which even ended up havingdifferent tilaks as it was in the case of SyamanandaPrabhu who received a different tilak by the grace of

Srimati Radharani. Unity despite external differences willundoubtedly take true maturity in order to beaccomplished. The World Vaisnava Association, thoughnew in its latest format, has already achieved somesuccess in this regard.

We are happy to see how broadminded and generousVaishnavas are. Judge a tree by its fruits. phalenaparichiyate. Not all devotees have to wear a dhoti in orderto preach the pure essence of Mahaprabhu's gospel oflove. Not every temple has to have installed deities. Notevery kirtan has to sound the same. Srila A. C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada made possible kirtan

unity by focusing on the mahamantra. His aim was to beable to unite the whole world in one kirtan of praise of ourmerciful Lord. Today devotees from any part of the worldsing Vaishnava songs just like Bengalis in their mothertongue and that has deepened their understanding of theVaishnava tradition. In this way they like to sit for hoursand sing one song after the other. And the instructions ofSrila Rupa Goswami who is none but the sameconfidential associate of Srimati Radharani (Shri RupaManjari) has shown his absolute openness by saying:

  • 8/7/2019 Unidad Vaisnava

    9/13

yena tena prakarena, manah krishna niveshayet. Themost important think is that everyone should first think ofKrishna, the rules and regulations can be introducedgradually. Even the sound of the violin and theharmonium are substantial part of the padavali kirtans inBengal to attract the people to listen to the sacredstories for hours and hours. And it is a fact that Gaudiya

Math brahmacaries listen to these musical performancesas attentive as little old ladies from the villages. ShrilaPrabhupada Bhaktisiddhanta wanted his followers to gobeyond the sweet tune of the kirtan and dive deep intothe substance of selfless surrender. Shrila SarasvatiThakur used modern machines for preaching as well asartistic dioramas to attract the masses to the exhibits.

Every spiritual master emphasize particular points, islenient or innovative on others and tries out differentthings to realize the service received. Only few peopleknow that Shrila Prabhupada Bhaktisidhanta dressed hisdevotees first in green, then in black and finally in the

traditional color of renunciates. We have no right to rejectany of these phases, but lastly we ended up with thesaffron for our sannyasis and not purple. But would apurple sannyasi who gets all to chant the holy name beless empowered or bonafide? This may sound like achallenge for dynamic preachers. Definitely this is to berealized by the individuals, otherwise they may not beappreciative when they meet those who do thingsdifferent from their spiritual masters., when we wantunity, we have to understand that this is focused onthose aspects which are common ground and commoninterest for all of us. Do not expect to create unity in allexternal appearances. That is a useless waste of time. The Vaishnava world religion has space for all who

accept the basic tenets. The mercy of the holy name. The system of guru parampara (which also exists in thedifferent sampradayas) The Vedic shastras The holydhamas. The service to the Vaishnavas And the serviceto Shri Vigraha. The service of VVRS-WVA is nowbecoming increasingly important and will help all of us.

To reject this proposal would be very sad. Because itwould mean that our goal would be further delayed. Ofcause all is in the hands of Sri Chaitanya MahaprabhuHimself. I cannot conceive of anyone who cannot see thebenefit we may derive from the development of this unity. So many committees are there in the VVRS-WVA and

all who have a particular interest can join them, getinformation and interface with other Vaishnavas in theworld who share the same interest. If you are in aparticular trade, you will surely visit the trade shows.Otherwise you may stay behind and later repent that youdid not develop along with the evolution in your trade.Nityananda Prabhu opened the marketplace of the holyname. Our only interest is to serve this cause through allour efforts. And the different books, tapes, videos, posters, picture books, japa malas and necklaces,

  • 8/7/2019 Unidad Vaisnava

drama transcripts, temple constructions, deitymanufacture, graphic material for books and magazines, dioramas, children and education materials, music andoperas, CD ROM's, slide shows, movies and spiritualgames are all services done by devotees to broadcastthe glories of the holy name all over the world. Whateverwe accomplish, we should be happy to share it with

other preachers. That generosity was shown from the sixGoswamis of Vrindavan. Why, in a humble way, should itnot be expected from us? Vaishnava Unity will please ourguardians and at the same time strengthen our diversity. The one without the other could not fulfill the purpose of asweet individual guru-disciple relationship. At the sametime the individual challenge will not be hampered byinstitutional concerns to limit the expansion ofVaishnavism to a few selected officers. It will be clearlyknown for all times to come. Nobody can limit or stop theexpansion of Gaudiya Vaishnavism. The divine plan fromthe very beginning is clearly becoming manifest.

Let us join together. The end of the century is near. It isa good moment to overcome all sorrows of the past. Letus forgive and forget. But we have to be cautious not tocommit the same mistakes again. If we forgive, we will

The Disappearance day of SrilaSrinivas Acharya

Excerpt from a lecture series by Srila ParamadvaitiSwami "VINA"

Wednesday is the Tirobhava Mahotsava Titi of SrilaSrinivas Acharya. The following is an excerpt from alecture-series on "Sri Bhakti Ratnakara" and "SriNarottam vilas", by Srila Narahari Cakravarti Thakur givenby Srila Guru Maharaja in Kartik 1993 in Sri Vrindavan.

Srinivas Acharya is a Parsada. He is an eternalassociate of the lila of Lord Chaitanya, even though hepersonally did not meet Lord Chaitanya. But he wasinvited to come in this world personally by Lord

Chaitanya. There are two types of specially empoweredexpansions of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu: The firstexpansion are the six Goswamis, which He charged todiscover Vrindavan, to establish the holy worship of theLords deity and to give the bhakti-grantha, the Holyscriptures to protect the bhakti path. Then another, asecondary expansion of his mission came throughSrinivas Acharya, Narottam das Thakur andSyamananda pr. who were particularly charged for thepreaching, for the great preaching, to take the message

    11/13

of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu everywhere all over India. So they are the great spiritual sankirtan party, we haveoften heard about it.

The story of the appearance of Srinivas Acharya isextremely beautiful. His father was called Chaitanya das.Actually previously he had another name, which I forgot,

but when he went to Katwa, it just so happened, thatChaitanya Mahaprabhu was at the verge of takingSannyasa. So as he came there the barber was justputting his knife to cut the hair of Sri ChaitanyaMahaprabhu. That sight was so unbearable for him, thatfinally when he heard the sannyasa name that was givento Mahaprabhu, then he could only say: "Chaitanya,Chaitanya, Chaitanya". Seeing this the people said:"Lets call him Chaitanya das, as the only things hesays, is Chaitanya , Chaitanya. So that is a better namefor him." So he got this name. This Chaitanya das, hewas married and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu after takingSannyasa, we all know, he went to Puri.

So in one occasion it happened so that his wife came tohim and she said: "My dear husband, I had a dream,Lord Chaitanya came to me in a dream and he has toldus, that we should have a child." And Chaitanya dassaid: "what? You are even using Lord Chaitanya forhaving a child? That is not proper." "No", she said: "Ipromise you, I am not speaking any untruth. Mahaprabhucame to me in a dream and he told me that he wantedus, to have a child. Chaitanya das replied: "That is notenough for me. We have to go to Puri and confirm thatorder, since Mahaprabhu is there. And it is also a goodopportunity to get His darshan. If he wants us, to do thisspecial service." So they decided to go. They were living

in the Nabadvipa area. So they actually started on theirpilgrimage for going to Puri, Chaitanya das and his wife. When they reached Puri, it happened so, thatMahaprabhu was coming down the main road in front ofthe Jaganatha mandir with his sankirtana party. Manysannyasis and everybody was surrounding Mahaprabhu. When Mahaprabhu noticed them, approaching, heopened and he gave them a welcome and he told them tolater come and see him. All the sannyasis weresurprised: "Who is this grhasta? Mahaprabhu is givingspecial attention to him. How is that?" They were allcurious. This story is described in Bhakti Ratnakara, byNarahari Cakravarti Thakur. Then Chaitanya das and his

wife went to the Gambhira and there they met SriChaitanya Mahaprabhu. They had some conversationand Mahaprabhu told them: "Chaitanya das, your wife isright. I want you to have a child and I want you to callthat child Srinivas."

So it was an actual announcement of Sri ChaitanyaMahaprabhu to invite a dear devotee of his into a veryspecial family of his devotees. And practically unheard ofin the history of transcendence, a direct announced child

by the Supreme personality of Godhead. So of coursethey were very happy, hearing this service whichChaitanya Mahaprabhu personally gave to them.Absolutely unique. So they went back to Navadvipa, afterstaying for a few days in Jaganatha Puri, joining thekirtan of Mahaprabhu and so filling their hearts with joy. They went back and shortly after they had this wonderful

child. very auspicious, you can imagine, wasmanifesting, what could be more auspicious than hisappearance. Srinivas Acharya was born and thedescription is given there of the family life of Chaitanyadas. It is said, when Srinivas was only four years old, once he went into the temple-room of their house and hesaw his father who was shedding tears there. The littleboy was asking: "Father, why are you crying?" And thenthe father was saying: " O ,because I have no love forRadha and Krsna, and no Love for ChaitanyaMahaprabhu. I am in such a fallen condition." So whenthe little boy saw his father crying, he started also cryingand he grabbed the feet of his father and said: " What

can I say? I have nothing of that what you are talkingabout." So both of them were sitting in the temple roomand crying. Hearing that sound, the mother came, wanting to see, what's happening in the temple room. She saw husband and child crying there and she inquiredwhat was the reason. Chaitanya das said: "We have nolove for Krsna, we have no love for Radharani." Soimmediately she also fell on the ground and startedcrying too. So there they were. And then NarahariCakravarti says, this is the perfect Krsna consciousfamily life. Then we can understand, how these familiesactually should go on in Krsna consciousness. And veryspecial, because also the daughter of Srinivas Acharya,Hemalati Thakurani, became a Vaisnava acharya. So it

happened, they were so happy with their son, you canimagine, or we can not imagine. Mahaprabhu personallygives you a child under your care.

Everything was so wonderful. Then once upon a time, itso happened, that Srinivas was about 8 years old, ormaybe ten, I forgot, then one sannyasi came. So it is acustom, when a sannyasi comes to a home, that he willbe very happily received and treated with all honors. Soas it was the custom, the sannyasi was delivering somekrsna katha and everybody was delighted. ThenChaitanya das told to him: " So my dear Sannyasi, youare a great preacher. Can I do you any favor? Anything

you need?" The sannyasi said: "No, my dear Chaitanyadas, what I want, I wont tell you." Chaitanya das said:"What you mean, you wont tell me. You can not saythis. I am a grhasta and I have my vows and I am treatingthe sannyasis properly. So you please do not hesitate. Ifyou need something special, tell me." "No", said thesannyasi: "I will not tell you. I can not tell you. You willnot like that.' Then he became even more upset. He said:"You must tell me. I will not let you go from here.Anything that you will ask, I will give to you." And then

the sannyasi said: "Yes, I want to take your son,Srinivas with me." He flipped over and becameunconscious. Because he knew, that after all thisintroduction he could not withdraw his word. It was toomuch. The gift was given and now it was taken. So inthis way, Srinivas Acharya was taken away by thisSannyasi and then his transcendental career started. We

have heard so much about it. He came to Vrindavan andhe became a disciple of Gopal Bhatta Goswami. GopalBhatta Goswami became his diksha guru. So it was allarranged by Chaitanya Mahaprabhu personally and theneven though he became initiated by Gopal BhattaGoswami, he was sent for spiritual studies to RadhaDamodar mandir, to Srila Jiva Goswami Prabhupada, sothat he could learn the Vaisnava philosophy there.

There he met his beloved friends, Syamananda andNarottam das Thakur. So many other stories we canhear. He was also present at the installation of thedeities in Kethurigram, the Radha Vraja Mohan deities,

which are not far from here, installed by SrinivasAcharya, Narottam das Thakura and Jahnava devi, whowas present at that installation.
