La reairmación vital -o la negación de la muerte- es la clave para entender mi trabajo. Esta característica siempre la encontraremos en mis obras, latente bajo capas más supericiales. Esa pulsión es mi motor creativo, y cuanto menos tiempo me queda de vida más precipito mí ritmo artístico y más lo concentro.

Para gestionar el paso del tiempo, y la incertidumbre vital, me he visto obligado a crear y a adoptar una actitud “Romántico-Punk”, en la vida y el arte. La par-te “Romántica” es la observación lenta, es la parte ilosóica, y se encarga de intentar asimilar los temas trascendentes, la encontraremos en el fondo preo-cupado de las obras. La parte “Punk” es directa, es el instinto, y su misión es la de “achicar agua”, la de gestionar ágilmente el tiempo, (y la sobre-información actual), la encontramos en la ejecución y en la apa-riencia de las obras.

Así pues, sobre la estructura “Romántica” se instala la capa “Punk”. Y esto, aparte de mantenerme “vivito y coleando”, lo que genera automáticamente es un lenguaje creativo basado en una estrategia de subes-timación*. Mis trabajos se nos presentan con un aire radical y apresurado, pero más allá del primer golpe de vista, se revelan como estructuras sólidas y per-versas. Es como una especie de burla ina al especta-dor, es como una “trampa” que se le tiende, es como decir “hasta luego” mientras se piensa en la muerte.

En la mayoría de los casos los temas que empleo tie-nen que ver con la cultura popular o con la actualidad, por aquello de la identiicación*. En estos momentos valoro la intuición* como el método de conocimiento más iable, y la ironía* como el mejor vehículo para trasladar mis inquietudes vitales.

Me siento a gusto en la multidisciplina, y el lenguaje “Romántico-Punk” me funciona con todos los medios por igual, desde la pintura hasta a las incursiones en las redes sociales, desde la fotografía hasta la poe-sía, pasando por la escultura, audio, o el vídeo. La utilización del texto, como soporte de la idea, se ha convertido en un elemento recurrente en mi trabajo. Mi última producción va en dirección a las instalacio-nes-murales, híbridos entre pintura mural y mini-ins-talaciones, estas obras suelen estar concebidas para lugares especíicos y momentos concretos.

The vital reafirmation – or the negation of the death - is the key to understand my artwork.This characte-

ristic is always found in my work, as a latent aspect lying under several supericial layers. This pulsion is my creative engine. The less time of life I have re-

maining, the more precipitated and concentrated my artistic rhythm becomes.

To manage the trace of time and vital uncertainty, I felt bound to create and adopt a “Romantic-Punk” at-titude through life and art. The Romantic part is the slow observation, a philosophical part in charge of assimilating transcendental issues, that can be found in the concerned background of my artworks. On the other hand, the “Punk” part is much more direct, it is an instinct, and its mission is “to bail out water”, to manage time nimbly (and the excess of information), it can be found in the execution and the appearance of my artworks.

Cosequently, a supericial “Punk” layer is inserted over the “Romantic” structure. This fact, apart from keeping me “alive and kicking”, automatically gene-

rates a creative language based on a strategy of un-

derestimation*. My works are presented with a radical and rushed feel, but beyond the irst glimpse, they will reveal themselves as solid and perverse structures. It is a kind of subtle mockery to the viewer, a “trap” laid for him, it is like saying “see you later” while thinking about death.

In most cases, I use topics that have to do with popu-

lar culture or current issues, owing to identiication*. At the moment I value intuition* as the most reliable method of knowledge, and irony* as the best vehicle to transfer my vital concerns.

I feel comfortable in multidisciplinarity, and the “Ro-

mantic-Punk” languaje works equally with all media, from painting to incursions in the social networks, from photography to poetry, passing through sculptu-

re, audio or video. My most recent artistic productions are closer to wall installations, hybrids between mural painting and mini-installations. This pieces tend to be concived for an speciic place and a concrete moment.

Victor Jaenada 1977, artista barcelonés curtido en la periferia de la ciudad. Desde muy pronto destaca en las artes plasticas, lo que hace que en 1994 ingrese en La Escuela de Artes Aplicadas de Barcelona Llotja, donde recibe cinco años de formación clásica, apren-diendo a la manera tradicional las técnicas del dibujo, de la pintura de caballete, y de la pintura mural.

Como complemento a la formación academica recibi-da, en 2001 ingresa en la Facultad de Bellas Artes de Barcelona, donde aparte de profundizar en el dibujo y la pintura, investiga y experimenta con otros medios artisticos como el grabado, la escultura, la fotograia, o el video. Allí logrará conformar un primer estadio de su propio lenguaje creativo, “El método subesti-mable”.

Despues de la universidad, en 2007, encuentra un local abandonado en Esplugues de Llobregat, y lo tranforma en el espacio adecuado para continuar con sus investigaciones y su lenguaje. Creará allí durante cinco años muy productivos. Será en este espacio de grandes dimensiones donde creará sus primeras Ins-talaciones-Murales. El aislamiento acabará de deinir su ya de por sí personal trabajo.

Entre 2013 y 2015, regresa al contexto aristico bar-celones y continuará con sus proyectos multidiscipli-nares en el centro de producción artistica Hangar. Allí sigue experimentado con nuevas formas de hacer, a menudo en los limites de la practica artistica. “El método subestimable” se tranformado en una actitud vital y creativa, “La Romantico-Punk”.

Algunas experiencias en el ámbito artístico son: la participación en la exposición “Atrévete si quieres a no hacer nunca lo que debes” en la Galeria T-20, la participación en el ciclo “FAQ - Factotum” de la Fun-dació Antoni Tapiés, la selección para el Relecta Award en el MNCARS, o la incorporación al archivo del MACBA de los fanzines co-creados con Efrén Álvarez, “Poemas de interpelación” y “Una lor y un subnormal”.

ter the Llotja Advanced School of Art in Barcelona in 1994, where he will receive ive years of classical tra-

ining, learning the traditional techniques of drawing, essel painting, and mural painting.

In order to complement the academic education, in 2001 he joined the Faculty of Fine Arts of Barcelo-

na, where in addition to develop in depth drawing and painting, he investigates and experiments with other artistic media such as printmaking, sculpture, photo-

graphy and video. There he will achieve a irst stage of his own creative language, “The underestimate me-

thod”.

After University, in 2007 he found an abandoned pre-

mises in Esplugues de Llobregat, which he will trans-

form in the appropriate space to continue his research and his language. He will be there creating for ive very productive years. In that large space he will be working on his initial Mural-Installations. The isolation will end to deine his already personal work.

From 2013 to 2015, he returns to the artistic context of Barcelona and he will continue with multidisciplinary projects in Hangar center for art research and produc-

tion. Currently, he still experiments with new ways of doing, often within the limits of the artistic practice. “The underestimate method” has now become a vital and creative attitude, “The Romantic-Punk”.

Some experiences in the artistic ield have been: the participation in the exhibition “Atrévete si quieres a no hacer nunca lo que debes” at T-20 Gallery, the parti-cipation in the cycle “FAQ - Factotum” in the Antoni Tàpies Foundation, the selection for Relecta Award in MNCARS, or the incorporation of the fanzines “Poe-

mas de interpelación” and “Una lor y un subnormal”, co-created with Efren Alvarez, to MACBA’s archive.
