в будь-який спосіб терпить!

Every one of us can supplement this list with suggestions of their own, so as to bring the gifts of good deeds to Jesus, as did the Wise Men. So let us prepare the manger of our heart so that the Christ Child will feel comfortable there.

Кілька слів від нашого Благодійного Фонду…

Цього тижня ми отримали листа від сестри Служебниці з міста Трускавець. Вона пише:

Дорогі парафіяни церкви св. Івана Хрестителя в Нюарку! Кажуть, що для того, щоб зробити надзвичайні речі потрібні звичайні люди. Тому дякуємо вам, що ваша доброта не знає кордонів. З кожним із тих кому можемо послужити спілкуємося, з деким лиш через телефон, із деякими очно. В одній сім’ї мама виховує сама чотирьох дітей, де один із синів дитина із аутизмом. Тому, у харчуванні мама більш зосереджена і зорієнтована на цього сина, який не все може їсти. Тому ми їм закупили мішок

картоплі і більше гречки, а також олію. Нещодавно ми познайомилися із ще з однією багатодітною сім’єю де мама сама виховує п’ятеро дітей. Батько помер від онкологічного захворювання. Жінка почувається пригніченою, але маленькі діти змушують шукати шляхи виходу. «Не потоком шумних і галасливих фраз, а тихою, невтомною працею любіть Україну!» так звертався і

навчав митрополит Андрей Шептицький. Тому, від імені всіх людей, які через вашу тиху і невтомну працю, отримали дарунки, кажемо велике Дякую. Дякуємо вам і від нас сестер Служебниць з Трускавця, які виконуємо свою місію і йдемо там де найбільша потреба. З молитвою і вдячністю,

A Few words from our Charitable Fund…

This week we received a letter from a Sister Servant in the town of Truskavets. She wrote: Dear parishioners of St. John’s Church in Newark! They say that in order to do extraordinary things one needs ordinary people. And so we thank you. Your goodness sees no boundaries. We are in touch with each of the people whom we serve - some we call, others we visit. There is one family that we visit were a mother is the only caregiver for her four children, one of whom has autism. This sick child cannot eat many things and so we bought that which their household needed - a large bag of potatoes, oil and buckwheat. Recently we got to know a family where the father died of cancer and the mother was left alone with five children. The woman is depressed and yet is forced to keep going because of the children. Metropolitan Andrew Sheptytsky used to say “Love Ukraine, not through noisy streams of words but through tireless work!“ So in the name of all of those who have received your gifts we send a huge Thank You. We also send a thank you from the Sister Servants in the town of Truskavets, who fulfill their mission and go where the need is the greatest.

Свято Наближається! Готуймося!

Коли ми запрошуємо когось в гості, то готуємось до цієї зустрічі. Прибираємо помешкання, готуємо страви, вбираємось у кращий одяг, намагаємось чимось здивувати. Зустрічаємо гостя з радістю у серці і усмішкою на вустах. У скорому часі будемо зустрічати Різдво Христове. Христос у вигляді Немовляти прийде до нас. Маємо сприятливий час, час посту, щоб приготуватися до цієї важливої зустрічі. Як же використати цей час? Ось поради: – розмовляти з Отцем Небесним. Під час розмови попросити, щоб Він допоміг глибше усвідомити тайну приходу Свого Сина; - вчитися довіряти Богові життя, як діти довіряють його своїм батькам; – кожного дня робити три безкорисливі справи, щоб трішки уподібнитися до Люблячого Батька; – кожного ранку, відкривши очі, дякувати Богові за прожиту ніч. Усвідомлювати, що кожен ранок є новим народженням; – викинути із кишені камінці гніву і образ; – відвідати батьків, рідних, друзів і молитися за них; – вчитися радіти життю; - сумлінно і з любов’ю виконувати свою працю; – молитися за людей, яких зустрінете упродовж дня; – читати Слово Боже, корисні книги; – гнів поливати терпеливістю; – поритися у собі, щоб знайти і повидаляти погані звички; – написати і розіслати Різдвяні вітання; – через Тайну Покаяння позбутися гріхів і помножити ласку; - скласти список людей яких ми недолюблюємо, молитися за них і зробити їм приємність; – дарувати квіти без причини; – читати дітям про народження Ісуса; – пізнавати себе у світлі Божого Слова; - при можливості поділитися їжею зі Святвечора з безхатченками, або запросити на вечерю знайомих самотніх осіб;

The Holyday is coming Let’s get ready!

When we invite company into our home we go through a certain amount of preparation. We clean the house, we cook, we put on our best clothing. We try to impress. We greet our guest with joy in our hearts and a smile on our face. Soon we will be celebrating Christmas. Christ will come to us as a Child. The Christmas fast is the perfect time to prepare for this important meeting. Here are some tips on how to prepare for Christmas, the coming of Jesus: -talk to our Heavenly Father. Ask Him to help you understand more fully the mystery of the birth of His Son; -learn to entrust your life to God, like children trust their parents; -perform three good deeds every day in order to become more like the Loving Father: - every morning when you wake up, thank God for having lived through the night, realizing that every morning is a new birth; -empty your pockets of the stones of anger and resentment: -visit your parents, your family and friends and pray for them; - learn to enjoy life; - do your job honestly and lovingly; -pray for the people whom you meet throughout the day; -read the Word of God and wholesome literature; -quench your anger with patience; -delve into yourself to find and remove bad habits; -through the sacrament of Penance get rid of your sins and multiply your grace; -make a list of people whom you do not like, and do something kind for them; -bring someone flowers – for no reason; -read to your children about the birth of Christ; -recognize yourself in the light of God’s Word -if possible, share some of the food that you have prepared for Christmas Eve with the homeless or invite someone who is lonely to share your Christmas Eve with them; -sing carols every evening.

гнів, лютість, злобу, наклеп, сороміцькі слова з ваших уст! Не говоріть неправди одне одному, бо ви з себе скинули стару людину з її ділами й одягнулися в нову, що відновлюється до досконалого спізнання, відповідно до образу свого Творця. Тим то немає грека, ні юдея, ні обрізання, ні необрізання, ні варвара, ні скита, ні невольника, ні вільного, а все й у всьому - Христос. Стихи на Алилуя: Мойсей і Арон між єреями Його і Самуїл між тими, що призивають ім’я Його. Призивали Господа і Він вислухав їх. Євангеліє: Від Луки 14: 16-24 Сказав Господь притчу оцю: “Один чоловік справив вечерю велику й запросив багатьох. Під час вечері послав він слугу свого сказати запрошеним: Ідіть, усе готове. Тоді всі вони однаково почали відмовлятися. Перший йому сказав: Поле купив я, мушу піти на нього подивитись; вибач мені, прошу тебе. Другий сказав: П'ять пар волів купив я і йду їх спробувати; прошу тебе, вибач мені. А інший мовив: Я одружився і тому не можу прийти. Повернувся слуга й розповів це панові своєму. Розгнівався тоді господар та й каже до слуги свого: Іди щоскоріш на майдани й вулиці міста й приведи сюди вбогих, калік, сліпих, кульгавих. Пане, - озвавсь слуга, - сталось, як ти велів, і місця є ще. Сказав пан до слуги: Піди на шляхи та огорожі й наполягай увійти, щоб дім мій наповнився. Кажу бо вам: Ніхто з отих запрошених не покуштує моєї вечері.” Замість “Достойно”: Величай, душе моя, преславне зачаття Божої Матері. Життєприймаюче джерело, завжди текуче, світлоносний світильник благодаті, храм одушевленний, скинію пречисту, від небес до землі просторішу—Богородицю, вірні, величаємо. Причасний: Хваліте Господа з небес, хваліте його в вишніх. Радуйтеся, праведні, у Господі, правим належить похвала. Алилуя! Алилуя! Алилуя!

For many are called, but few are chosen.” Instead of “Indeed, it is fitting”: O my soul, magnify the most glorious conception of the Mother of God. Let us the faithful magnify the Mother of God, * wellspring ever-flowing and life-receiving, * the light-bearing lamp of grace, * the living temple and tabernacle all pure, * even more spacious than heaven and earth. Communion Hymn: Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise Him in the highest. Exult, you just, in the Lord; praise from the upright is fitting. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
