CatechismBOOK OF COMMON PRAYER, P. 843IGLESIA EPISCOPALOne, Holy, Catholic, and ApostolicConcerning the Catechism
This catechism is primarily intended for use by parish priests, deacons, and lay catechists, to give an outline for instruction. It is a commentary on the creeds, but is not meant to be a complete statement of belief and practice; rather, it is a point of departure for the teacher, and it is cast in the traditional question and answer form for ease of reference.
The second use of this catechism is to provide a brief summary of the Church’s teaching for an inquiring stranger who picks up a Prayer Book.
It may also be used to form a simple service; since the matter is arranged under headings, it is suitable for selective use, and the leader may introduce prayers and hymns as needed.

* These sacraments are received once in a lifetime.* About the Sacrament of Matrimony:
Before marriage: Your job is to get to know one another and to develop the level of commitment that you will need for one another, to the family you will create, and to God and the Christian life. You will avoid many problems by taking your time, talking to one another, and deciding to make God a central part of your family life.
The couple who’s having problems : Early help from your pastor or a counselor can help you avoid separation or divorce in the future. Your children deserve your trying your hardest to keep the family together.
When separation or divorce is unavoidabley (for example when a spouse or the children are beaten or abused): Speak with your pastor so that you will have spiritual support during this difficult process. Divorce does not separate you from God or the Church. All people who are baptized and try to follow Christ are invited to receive the Sacraments, including Communion. At the same time, the children need you both. These decisions must be made seriously and upon reflexion and prayer – and with understanding and sensitivity for your children, who are your main responsibility. The Episcopal Church allows remarriage after divorce. Talk about it with your pastor.

a seguir a Cristo.
QUE DIOS TE BENDIGA EN HACER ESAS DECISIONES QUE FORMARÁN TU VIDA, LA VIDA DE LOS EN TU ALREDEDOR, Y TU RELACIÓN CON DIOS. ACUÉRDATE QUE DIOS TE AMA Y SIEMPRE ESTÁ CONTIGO.
Things to keep in mind as you think through a decision
A method to analyze an issue:Holy Scripture – What does the Bible say?Tradition – What does the Church teach?Reason – What do I think is the right thing to do? What past experiences can help inform my decision? What do I think that Jesus would do?
What was the example Jesus gave us?· First, he tried to to search out God’s will. He prayed. He
asked God and he took the time to listen to God. He read the Bible. He looked in his faith tradition and in his personal experience of the God. What does God ask of you regarding this decision?
· He treated all people, regardless of their situation, with the respect that they deserved. He recognized that everyone is made in the image and likeness of God. Are you treating people this way?
· He knew how to maintain his priorities. Jesus focused on those things that are truly important, that last, not in what satisfies for the moment but then goes away. What do you think is truly important? How will your decision effect those things that you hold as important?
Rights and dutiesWhat are your rights? What are your duties?
What are the rights and duties of the other people in the issue?
What do you think is just and fair for you and the others.
