President of the Executive will attend this country on 7 and 8January, which will be his first trip of the year to return the visit to his counterpart in thePrincipality, Antoni Marti, who came to La Moncloa on z September. Although both governmentsinsist they will not be on the agenda, the visit occurs when you are still alive Pujol case, inwhichAndorra has a great importance because it is where the expresidenf had hidden a net worth of at leastfour million euros. Pujol is called to testiS'before the court on January 27.
Rajoy and Marti and denied in September when the scandal broke just that this issue was on the tableat its meeting. The collaboration of Andorra is essential to clarifu a case that still dominates Catalanpolitics and gives a great spring to ERC, having in her hand a way to force the appearance at theinquiry commission in the Parliament of Artur Mas. Oriol Junqueras already stated they have nointention of doing so, but requires Mas to convene early elections. The Government, according togovernment sources, believes that this issue is a bargaining chip between the two parties.
Rajoy is expected to sign with Marti an agreement to avoid double taxation between the twocountries and facilitate the Andoman entrepreneurs doing business in Spain. This is the greatpurpose of the trip, as Marti.
However, Convergdncia are convinced that the Government has initiated an offensive against themseeking information Andorra harm. On November tS,2c14, the Civil Guard surprised Merc6 Pigem, member of the Judiciary and known leader of Convergence, while returning from Andorra with hersister 2o,too euros in cash. She was forced to resign.
The Principality and its beneficial tax regulations have also been involved in the decision to MarcMdrquez, MotoGP world champion, transferring their residence to Andorra. Given the controversycreated, M6rquez said that currently only moved marital residence, no tax, but has criticized thetaxes they have to pay in Catalonia.

The former president of the Generalitat, Jordi Pujol, admitted Friday that has persisted for decades money in an account abroad withoutregularizing the result of an inheritance from his father.
ln a Statement [http:/lwww.elmundo.es/catalunal2014l07l25l53d29132e2704eba1eBb459c.html] sent to various media, former president asks"forgiveness" who may have "cheated" for having hidden the funds which did not figure in any moment since 1980, which ensures that thechildren "have been regularized in last days. " This adjustment would have made through the tax amnesty approved by the Government in 2012
The former president also says he is "solely responsible" and offered to appear before the Tax Agency and Justice "if necessary".
Pujol ensures that money is the result of an inheritance that his father Florenci Brugal i Pujol, in 1980 bequeathed his seven sons when theyreach adulthood. Since then, however, the former presrdent of the Generalitat says that "unfortunately never found the right time toregularize this heritage" . According regrets, "my original error directly defiled my children and my wife."
The press Pujol assumed his nesponse [http://www.elmundo.eslcatalunal2014l07l25t53d29389268e3e03658b458b.html] "to the informationpublished almost two years" and "hints" about the origin of the economic means "of his family.
This statement belies Pujol himself when, shortly after leaving the scandal that kept money in tax havens, stated emphatically: ' I have noaccounts in Switserland Ihttp://www.elmundo.es/catalun a12014l07l25l53d29b55e2704ea31eBb45BB.htmt] '.

Caso Pujol
Familia Pujol Ferrusola
hijos l"fiireia, lViai-ta, Jordi, Oleguer, .josep, Orioly Pei"e.

Family Pujol Ferrusola composes the parents Jordi Pujol and ilerla i':e;r.ri.isl,ta , and seven
children M,reia, i\"riai:a, Jordi , Oleguer, Josep, Oriol and Frere .
Both the father and the children are linked with different corruption cases and ownership of
bulging bank accounts in various tax havens. From 2012 some media started to publish data
that pointed to the existence of accounts in Swi2erland with irregular money. Following these
initial reports, the Swiss bank Lombard Odier certified that the accounts did not exist, and the
Ministry of lnterior said it did not recognize the report as official and had unknown
authorship. Also, in January 2013, Pujol said in a television interview he had no accounts in
Switzerland. There are allegations that the family wealth has increased exponentially over the
recent decades, with real estate interests in different countries, especially in Latin America,
but these have not been proved. This is the case of Jordi Pujol Ferrusola and Oleguer, the
youngest of the seven children of the marriage Pujol-Ferrusola.
Timeline
On July 25,2014, Jordi Pujol acknowledged in a statement sent to various media to have
concealed money located abroad from the Treasury for 34 years, according to his statements,
from his father Florenci Pujol. ln that statement Pujol regretted never having found found the
" right time " for the regularization of these quantities and apologized to the public. According
to several media, it would be around four million euros, located in Andorra, which would have
benefited from the tax amnesty (or extraordinary regularization) promoted by the Government
of Spain in 2012. The confession of Jordi Pujol generated much political controversy. ln
response, on July 28 the Clean Hands organisation denounced Jordi Pujol i Soley and his
wife before the courts on charges of bribery, influence peddling, tax fraud, money
laundering, prevarication, embezzlement and falsehood . The complaint went to court 31 of
Barcelona, where the head judge agreed to open proceedings and notifo its decision to the
prosecutor. The next day, July 29, President Mas, following a meeting with Pujol i Soley,
announced that he was renouncing the salary and the office that was assigned as ex-
president, and the honorary title of founding president of CDC and CiU. Subsequently, the
Minister of the Presidency Francesc Homs clarified that this included renouncing the honorary
title of " Very Honourable Senyor " and the Gold Medal of the Generalitat.
Money evaded
According to some Catalan media, about 4 millions had been concealed from the Spanish
Treasury. However, other police sources point to 500 million and even the Clean
Hands organisation states that the amount can range between 3000 and 5000 million.
