LESSON 1SONG ‘ZOMBIES’ by “The Cranberries”1.Read this text about the irish group“The Cranberries”.
The story of how the Cranberries became famous and successful is like a fairy tale.
Whan this Irish group from Limerick released their first LP, Everyone else is doing it, why can't we?, nobody was interested in Britain at first, but the single got to Number Onein the charts after a successful tour in the USA. On that tour, they were the back-up band for the group, Suede, but soon people became more interested in the Cranberries than in Suede, and they became the real stars of the concerts. they followed this success with a fantastic album, No need to argue.
The lead singer Dolores O'Riarden, is probably one of the best new voices in the world of the pop – and she doesn't like being called the new Sidnead O'Connor! The Cranberries play a simple typeof music, quite similar in style to the music of the Smiths. The guitar solos are very original and their lyrics are very important, too. The group are continuing on the road of success with their latest album, To the faithful departed.
2.Answer the questions:• Where are the Cranberries from?
• Who is the lead singer
• How many albums have they made?
• What kind of music do they play?
• Where did they have their first success?
