I’m crazy about him. - Estoy loca por él.
I can’t stop thinking about him.
Jane met Richard at a club. - Jane conoció a Richard en un club.

Where did you meet?

Lesley is dating Clive. - Lesley está saliendo con Clive.
Lesley is going out with Clive.

Are you seeing anyone? - ¿Estás saliendo con alguien?
Are you dating anyone? - ¿Estás saliendo con alguien?
Are you going out with anyone?

unidad17-01-33clarin.indd Sec1:12unidad17-01-33clarin.indd Sec1:12 10/21/09 1:35:30 PM10/21/09 1:35:30 PM

I’m in love. - Estoy enamorado.
I’m in love with her. - Estoy enamorado/a de ella.

Y luego, probablemente, se casen:
We got married. - Nos casamos.

COMPARISONS Las comparaciones
Observa estas oraciones:
Clive is taller than Greg. - Clive es más alto que Greg.
Greg is friendlier and more amusing than Clive.
What does … look like? y What’s … like? funcionan como frases hechas, por lo tanto no se incluyen las frases look like o is like en la respuesta.
What does your sister look like? - ¿Cómo es tu hermana físicamente?
She’s tall and slim.-Es alta y delgada.
What’s your new boss like? - ¿Cómo es tu nuevo jefe?
He’s very intelligent but a little shy. - Es muy inteligente pero un poco tímido.

Si el adjetivo es más largo, se coloca la palabra more delante del adjetivo y than detrás. El adjetivo no se modifi ca.

Love at fi rst sight
Eric and Meryl met eight years ago. It was a very hot Sunday afternoon, and they were
both jogging in the park.
Meryl was with some friends chatting and laughing as they were running along the park.
Suddenly, they stopped to freshen up and Eric saw her. He thought she was more beau-
tiful than any other girl he had met. So, he said to himself: “It’s now or never.”
He went directly to where she was and said: “Let’s have dinner in Paris.”
She laughed and said: “OK.”
At 3 p.m., they were both fl ying to Paris in Eric’s private jet. They landed in Charles de
Gaulle airport and went straight to the Eiffel tower, where they had a romantic dinner.
Two months later they got married and now they have three beautiful children.
