INDONESIAN MASS On the 4th Sunday of every month mass is

celebrated in Indonesian at 3 p.m. in the chapel (Ithaca Street). Following the mass there’s

always a reception in Heafey Hall. The next mass will be celebrated November 25 at 3 pm.

All are welcome to attend.

TAGALOG MASS On the 3rd Sunday of every month mass is celebrated in Tagalog for the Filipino

community at 5pm in the chapel. The next mass will be celebrated on Sunday Nov 18.

All are welcome to attend.

BENGALI MASS On Sunday, December 2, 2018

Fr Francis will offer confessions at 4 p.m. followed by mass at 4:30 pm in Bengali. The mass will take place in the chapel.

Following the mass there will be a reception in Heafey Hall. All are welcome to attend.

Dear Friends,

I am happy to report that our mass attendance has

increased over the past 6 months. Each November and May

we need to count the number of people attending mass and

report it to the diocese. In November 2011 (when Fr Gildea

and I began our ministry here) the attendance was 1843

people. Last weekend we counted at every mass and the total

was: 5312 people! What a blessing for our parish!

This Thursday I invite as many of you as possible to

attend our Thanksgiving Mass at 9:30 a.m. Following the

mass we will distribute bread for your thanksgiving table.

You will also receive a prayer that should be read before your

own family thanksgiving meal. Please make an effort to attend

this mass on Thursday. The collection taken is for the poor and

needy of our parish throughout the year. This money assists

families with rent and other bills as well as providing

emergency food throughout the year. Please be generous in

this collection. Special envelopes are at the church entrances.

For those who will be travelling Thursday and unable

to be with us- allow me to take this opportunity now to

wish you a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving Day for you

and your family.

Me complace informar que nuestra asistencia de las

misas ha aumentado en los últimos 6 meses. Cada noviembre y

mayo necesitamos contar el número de personas que asisten a

la misa e informar a la diócesis. En noviembre de 2011

(cuando el padre Gildea y yo comenzamos nuestro ministerio

aquí) la asistencia fue de 1843 personas. El fin de semana

pasado contamos en cada misa y el total fue de: ¡5312

personas! ¡Qué bendición para nuestra parroquia!

Este jueves invito a tantos de ustedes como sea posible

a asistir a nuestra Misa de Acción de Gracias a las 9:30 a.m.

Después de la misa, distribuiremos pan para su mesa de

Acción de Gracias. También recibirá una oración que debe

leerse antes de su propia comida familiar de acción de gracias.

Por favor, haga un esfuerzo para asistir a esta misa el jueves.

La colecta tomada es para los pobres y necesitados de

nuestra parroquia durante todo el año. Este dinero ayuda a las

familias con el alquiler y otras facturas, así como a

proporcionar alimentos de emergencia durante todo el año.

Por favor sea generoso en esta colecta. Sobres especiales están

en las entradas de la iglesia.

Para aquellos que viajarán el jueves y no podrán estar

con nosotros, permítanme aprovechar esta oportunidad

It’s been about two years since our

church bell has rung at 12 noon and 6 pm

every day. Due to the renovation we needed to

turn off the system and stop the bells from

ringing. Unfortunately, since they haven’t

been used in two years- now some parts aren’t

working! The new parts have been ordered

and the bell is being re-greased again. We

have been promised by the bell company to

have our bell ringing again near Thanksgiving

Day. The repair cost is about $6,000.

Han pasado aproximadamente dos

años desde que sonó la campana de nuestra

iglesia a las 12 del mediodía y a las 6 pm

todos los días. Debido a la renovación, tuvimos

que apagar el sistema y detener el timbre de las

campanas. Desafortunadamente, ya que no se

han utilizado en dos años, ¡ahora algunas

partes no funcionan! Se han pedido las piezas

nuevas y se ha vuelto a engrasar la campana.

La compañía de campanas nos ha prometido

que volverá a sonar nuestra campana cerca

del Día de Acción de Gracias. El costo de

reparación es de alrededor de $ 6,000.

ROSARY SOCIETY NOVEMBER MEETING!

ANOINTING OF THE SICK Are you aware of anyone who is sick and

unable to come to church? Please call the Parish

Office. A priest will visit them at home and offer the

Sacrament of the Sick as well as the Eucharist for the

sick person to receive. We will also assign a lay

minister of the Eucharist to visit them on a regular

basis. On Saturday, November 24 we will offer

a mass at 9 am for all those who are sick. This

mass will be in English and Spanish. Immediately

after the mass the priests will offer the Sacrament of

the Anointing of The Sick for those who request it.

UNCIÓN DE LOS ENFERMOS ¿Tiene conocimiento de alguien que esté

enfermo y no pueda asistir a la iglesia? Por favor

llame a la oficina parroquial. Un sacerdote los

visitará en su casa y ofrecerá el Sacramento de los

Enfermos y la Eucaristía para que los enfermos los

reciban. También asignaremos a un ministro laico

de la Eucaristía para que los visite regularmente.

El sábado 24 de noviembre ofreceremos una misa a

las 9 am para todos los enfermos. Esta misa será en

inglés y en español. Inmediatamente después de la

misa, los sacerdotes ofrecerán el Sacramento de la

Unción de los Enfermos para quienes lo soliciten.

NEED A LETTER FROM YOUR CHURCH?

In order to give letters of recommendation, letters attesting to character, sponsor

certificates, and other documents that may have legal or religious purposes, it is required that persons requesting those

documents be registered and be active members of Saint Bartholomew Parish

at least three months prior to your request. We can not provide any of these documents to people not

registered in the parish.

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION There are two times every Saturday for

confessions in the main church: 4 pm and 6:30 pm. Also Thursday at 6:30pm in the

Chapel. We now have two priests assigned during these times to make it convenient

and less time to wait. Please do your part…. come as close as possible to these confession times. Take advantage of this

wonderful opportunity of God’s mercy and love.

NECESITA UNA CARTA DE SU IGLESIA?

Para poder otorgar cartas de recomendación, de buen carácter moral,

como para ser padrinos de algún sacramento y documentos para propósitos legales o

religiosos, se requiere que quienes necesitan estos documentos, estén inscritos y sean

miembros activos de la Parroquia de San Bartolomé por lo menos tres meses antes

de su solicitud. No podemos entregar ninguna certificación a las personas que

no cumplan con estos requisitos.

SACRAMENTO DE RECONCILIACIÓN Los sábados las confesiones en la

iglesia principal son a las 4 pm y 6:30 p.m., también los jueves a las 6:30 pm en la capilla. Ahora tenemos dos sacerdotes asignados durante estos tiempos para

hacerlo más conveniente y menos tiempo para esperar. Por favor hagan su parte ...

WELCOME GABRIEL AGUDELO

Bishop DiMarzio has assigned a seminarian from Colombia to

our parish. Currently he is going to ZONI SCHOOL on

Roosevelt Avenue to improve his English. Gabriel will be

ordained a transitional deacon here in our parish on December 16

at 1pm. I am not sure if we ever had an ordination at

St Bartholomew Parish – maybe someone knows? It’s a beautiful

ceremony and a great blessing for our parish to be chosen.

For those who are able, I invite you to attend the mass.

Bishop Sanchez, our auxiliary bishop will be the celebrant.

BIENVENIDO GABRIEL AGUDELO El Obispo DiMarzio ha asignado un seminarista de Colombia a nuestra parroquia. Actualmente va a ZONI SCHOOL en Roosevelt Avenue para mejorar su inglés. Gabriel será ordenado diácono de transición aquí en nuestra parroquia el 16 de diciembre a la 1pm. No estoy seguro de si alguna vez tuvimos una ordenación en la parroquia de San Bartolomé, tal vez alguien lo sepa. Es una hermosa ceremonia y una gran bendición que nuestra parroquia sea elegida. Para los que puedan, los invito a asistir a la misa. El Obispo Sánchez, nuestro obispo auxiliar será el celebrante.
