Seating arrangement: Students will be sitting down facing the board; they will work at the tables situated in rows.

Cooperative work: There will be a bingo game, a video about a talented man; students will share their opinion about it to promote interaction among them.

Possible problems / difficulties and their possible solutions during the class:

Students may tend to speak in their mother tongue, I will promote the use of the target language, I will have the Spanish card in case that they speak Spanish. If students do not how to say a word in English I will encourage the use of their online dictionary.

Potential problems students may have with the language

Some students may find it difficult to express their opinion in English so I will provide them with the necessary vocabulary to express their opinion. I will also help them by providing them with hints and I’ll mime the vocabulary and instructions for them to understand the unknown words.

Assessment: The comprehension of the new words will be assessed by making them some oral questions. I will also assess them through the written activities.

“Well, what do you think about Steven’s talent? Was it strange? And he is a telecommunication engineer, but his talent is stranger than his job… I showed the video to a friend and she told me about an article that she read about strange jobs. So, I searched the article on the web, and guess what! I brought you the article since I think that you would like it, let’s have a look at the pictures, and tell me: Which of the two jobs is dangerous? Which of the jobs requires physical activity? Which of the jobs is boring? Which of the jobs is very well-paid? Awesome, let’s read the article!

The article was taken from the book Choices by Pearson. I will encourage some confident students to read the article aloud. Then, I will ask them some comprehension questions. Finally, students will work in pairs to

Discuss the question in pairs, then I will ask you to share your answer orally” I will ask students to think about an unusual job, and then I’ll explain to them that they will have to create an article about this job. “Great, now you will continue working in pairs to design an article about an unusual job. Imagine

Page 13: Slide tpe barth_planificación 3_tercer período_secondary

that one of you is the professional and one of you is the interviewer. You will have to write an article including the following things: - A picture of the job.-Some questions to the professional (How long have you been working as …? What do you do?
