UPN ProgramApplication: Mines

What is the UPN?Unique Position Number A unique number is allocated to a

point This point is identified on a map of

the mine (under ground or surface A board is fitted to indicate the UPN

number and contact information

Information logged on server

The following information is logged on the MAC national server:

Text description of the position

GPS position (where applicable)

Data utilisation

A mini data base with the clients UPN information on, is supplied to the client.

All UPN’s nationally are stored in the servers of MAC 911 & 112

How does it work?

To report an incident:

1.The caller phones the listed telephone number, and

2.Identify the ‘incident position’ by quoting the UPN

Where is the call directed to?Directly to the security

contractor’s control centre

The system is designed in such a way that112 will also be able to help the

caller if the UPN is quoted.

What are the main benefits?

The program ensures exact incident address description

Multiple callers to multi-discipline call centres all use the same address description

Application potential Airports & Railway stations Harbours & docks Private dwellings, Commerce & Industry Hiking trails & game parks Hospitality industry Sport stadiums & sport events Schools, colleges and universities Major construction sites (Gautrain)
