DPSGGN, NEWSLETTER, SEPTEMBER 2017 Delhi Public School, Sector 84, provides a challenging and a supportive environment for both academic and

PRE-PRIMARY SCHOOL
The formative years of children determine the kind of person they grow up to be. During these crucial years,
each child needs individual attention and conviction that he /she is important. We believe that each child is
gifted with a unique set of strengths. Teachers at DPS, employ methods that children find inspirational, engaging
and valuable keeping their psychomotor skills, gross motor skills and one-to-one correspondence in mind. The
school consciously aims for each student to develop skilled perspective and creative expression through daily
experiences.
An insight into the world of our little ones ….
As a part of their ongoing theme ‘Animals’, students of Nursery made cows and bears with their teacher’s help.
They thoroughly enjoyed making cow masks and paper plate bears.

Pets Day Out!
Students of Pre-Primary had some fun filled time meeting pets.The parent explained students about handeling
the pets well, what do they eat, how many times should we feed them etc in an interesting and informative
session.

Students of Nursery explored ‘Purple Colour Day’. They were all dressed in purple colour and did various
activities related to the coulour.

Sharing Learning Experience – The Pre Primary students explored the
Plant Kingdom. Theme Assembly was conducted on 16th September to
mark their learning journey. They danced and recited rhymes in-front of
their parents to showcase what they had learnt.

Water Conservation Rally
We never know the worth of water till the well is dry….
Knowing the importance of saving water is commendable
for our little angles of Kindergarten. They discussed
various methods of saving water and made posters to
reflect their learning.

CELEBRATION TIME !
God couldn’t be everywhere so he made grandparents…
Grandparents are a family’s greatest treasure, the greatest
storytellers and keepers of traditions. Grandparents are the
family’s strong foundation and through their special love
and care, they keep a family close at heart. To honour them
the students of Pre-Primary celebrated Grandparents Day
on 26th September, 2017.
The function started with welcoming the grandparents
followed by a small dance performance by students. Then
our little ones dedicated a sweet poem to their dada/dadi
and nana/nani.They enjoyed doing an art and craft activity
with them.

PRIMARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL
The early years of a child…… when the young minds start to develop...when curiosity runs high...these are
the moments when the child wants to explore and experiment.
It is here that we step in to facilitate and ensure that the child misses out on none of the above. To see that
his/her class-work and an enquiring bent of mind go hand-in-hand, we endeavour to foster appropriate skills
and abilities to enable the optimum development of the child, according to their age, ability and aptitude, right
from their primary years.
A peak into our classrooms
GRADE I:
Children participated in Show and Tell Competition on
"Types of Plants".They sowed seeds to understand
what all is needed for plants to grow. They kept it in
the class and took care of it.They also made Ravana
mask to celebrate and understand the importance of
Dusshera. Regular counselling sessions were also held
to make them understand how to take care of
themselves and stay safe.

GRADE II:
Students enjoyed the Hindi Recitation Competition.
All student participated enthusiastically using beautiful
props and portrayed a lot of confidence. They were
given information about Eid ul Zuha and Dusshera to
enhance their knowledge about the festivals celebrated
in India. Children also enjoyed watching stomata
through microscope in the science lab.

GRADE III: Grade III students witnessed the Intra-Class English
Poetry Recitation Competition, wherein students learnt
to recite with expression and actions,
portraying complete team spirit and displaying
wonderful props. Our budding artists thoroughly
enjoyed the Nature Painting Competition in the lush
greenery of the school. Sports activities were
challenging and motivating for the students too.

Grade IV:
English class was fun for Grade IV students with the
enactment of "The Disastrous Dinner", portraying the
traits of all the characters from the narrative. Students
also learnt the art of recitation in the Intra-Class Poem
Recitation Competition. They used innovative props and
recited confidently with appropriate actions and
expressions. They were taken for outdoor activities in the
sports ground where tips were given by their sports
coach on warming up exercises and playing football.
Nature Drawing Competition was enjoyed by all
students.

GradesV - VII:
The Principal addressed the students to sensitize them on how to be vigilant and safeguard themselves from any
kind of danger. She also discouraged them from being involved in any kind of bullying activities in school. They
were also apprised about the risks and dangers of using social media. In addition to this they were also explained
what is good touch and bad touch through videos. This was a hectic month for our senior students as they were
busy burning the midnight oil to prepare for their Term I Exams.

TALENT SHOW:
Our culture, our traditions, our language are the foundation upon which we build our identity.
With the aim of nurturing the artistic aptitudes of our students
the first Talent show ‘Our Legacy-The story comes alive’, was
organized in the school grounds. On this delightful occasion,
the students showcased their skills and brought out their
undiscovered talent. The show began with the journey into
India’s Independence and highlighted a few incidents
from that period of Indian history. The magnificent
models of our heritage -Tableau on Mahabodhi Temple,
Sanchi Stupa, Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar, Parliament House
and India Gate, representing the Ancient, Medieval and
Modern Indian history, was an added attraction of the
entire show. They were much appreciated by the parents
for their artistry and grandeur.

‘Dusshera celebrates the victory of the forces of good over evil. It is also considered an auspicious day to
begin new things in life.’
Theme based assembly was conducted in the month of September celebrating the special occasion of Dusshera.
by the students of Grade III and Grade IV to reiterate the ideology of good over evil. Students presented a beautiful
depiction of Ramayana in the form of Ramleela. The students of early years were simply awe struck to see their
seniors on stage as Ram, Sita, Lakshman, Hanuman and Ravana. The certificates for various events were also
given by our respected Principal.

Nothing is more important than the safety, security and well-being of our students…
All safety and security measures are strictly adhered to in
DPS Sector - 84 for the well-being of all students. We
have digitally backed full proof school security system.
All safety protocols are followed and have been shared
with the teaching staff and regular meetings are conducted
for the same. Regular counselling sessions and evacuation
mock drills are held for students.

The session started with a short film on Good touch and Bad touch in Hindi language to address importance of
the session. This Session was covered with complete introduction about Child Abuse and types of abuse with
examples. Good touch and Bad touch was explained in their context so that they could understand their
responsibilities with proper guidelines.
HARDWORK ALWAYS PAYS OFF
Dipsites were rewarded today for their hardwork, commitment and focus. Students who had won in various Class
and Inter-House Competitions were felicitated today during assembly and were given certificates by the Principal.
