The international fair of Extremadura ornithological tourism (FIO) is held every yearin the small town of Villarreal of San Carlos, in full vibrancy of Monfragüe Park, and isthe most important ornithological fair in the South of Europe.

FIO 2016 be held during the days 11, 12 and 13 March. During the fair, children and

elderly, ornithologists and amateurs to birds, enjoy lectures, photography workshops,visits the National Park of Monfragüe, a workshop of ringing and all kinds ofchildren's activities, one of the many strengths of the FIO Extremadura.

Where to stay and how to reach the 2016 FIO

The largest hotel offer of the area population is Plasencia, little monumental townthat is worth a visit if in. From it we can move in private to the FIO in 30 minutesvehicle.

It will also be possible to access the FIO in public transport on 12 and 13 March. The

travelers of the paths of train Badajoz - Mérida - Cáceres - Monfragüe and Madrid -Talavera - Monfrague will have a free shuttle that will pick them at Monfragüe trainstation and takes them to the enclosure of the FIO in Villareal de San Carlos.

Also, during the 12th and 13th March, will operate two lines of free buses with thefollowing itineraries:

Northern route: Plasencia - station of Monfragüe - campsite Monfragüe - San Carlos Villareal (roundtrip)

Southern route: Torrejón el Rubio - jump of the Gypsy - San Carlos Villareal(roundtrip).
